Hello friends!

I’m beyond happy to be putting out a song today that marks a real important moment in my journey as a musician and artist. This song feels like the culmination of every project I’ve worked on ‘til now, like a rearrangement of shards of my soul on display

I’ve often been one to shift musical directions and create a new project, a new alias, whenever I’ve felt I had outgrown a sound. Back in the day, making breakcore under the name ‘Alpen’ (don’t look, it’s been scrubbed), making ambient and guitar leaning music under @rhodamusic_ beat music under both @anothersilentweekend and this account, tender spring, and forming my lovely band @afternoonbikeride with @liakuri and @thomaswhitemtl. Each one of these projects holds a very special place in my heart, and is a time capsule (both closed and ongoing) of pieces of me through different stages of my little time here on earth.

I’ve decided to keep my new work under the name ‘tender spring’ because I’ve grown to realize that witnessing the full journey is just as important as the consumption of the music itself. Presentation and posturing are essential in an industry like this, but honesty to the process feels more vital to me now.

I’m so grateful to work with the people who inspire me the most on all of these songs upcoming: @fau.nde on artwork, your energy is forever imprinted upon mine;
@akinachan__ for the brilliant new photos, you captured me so kindly
& @josephshabason on this song in particular, your playing and feel brought it more to life than I could have dreamt of.

Memo:
As some of you may already know, I started resoling climbing shoes as an apprentice cobbler in 2013. I kept doing it as a side business when I started St Marc in 2016. It slowly grew over the years, and by 2020 it was taking up most of my time. In 2021 I decided to lean into it full time. I took on Thane as an apprentice. Around that time I renamed the shop Andy’s as a nod to the Andes mountains, where I’m from. We continued to get busier. Now I am happy to launch a new website with some more rugged products built with outdoor use in mind. The same considered material sourcing and design ethos as St Marc, but a sportier product offering complimented with versatile and tough accessories. You can follow Andy’s @andys.outdoors and andysoutdoors.ca there are some in stock items as well as some pre order options right now. Thank you all for your interest and support.
