What does it mean to trust the creative process? “My work primarily focuses on establishing a harmonious flow, as the weaving process inherently possesses a meditative quality. I refrain from sketching anything prior to commencing my work, as creation and creativity manifest organically during the process. Over the span of 15 years dedicated to this medium, I have cultivated a sense of confidence and professional expertise, which enables me to embrace the unexpected and explore novel possibilities.” — Matthias De Vogel, Amsterdam, The Netherlands @faultlineslab @artistsoncouches #MatthiasDeVogel #artistsoncouches #onthecouch #artistarchive #creativeconsciousness

Vlad Pocol, Matthias de Vogel, and Laurence Perratzi establish a refined dialogue between materiality, texture, and form. De Vogel’s use of recycled textiles introduces a tactile dimension, while Pocol’s oil painting explores the expressive possibilities of surface and depth. Perratzi’s bronze sculpture extends this conversation into three-dimensional space. Together, the three distinct practices create a balanced interplay between painting, textile, and sculpture. When modern vision meets time-honored craft. 🧵🎨We are completely captivated by the way @faultlineslab masterfully bridges two distinct worlds. By mixing cutting-edge modern art concepts with traditional materials and intricate weaving techniques, they create something entirely fresh, bold, and brilliantly colorful. It is a stunning reminder that honoring heritage doesn’t mean staying in the past—it means weaving it into the future with vibrant, forward-thinking energy. ⚡✨ #art #ModernWeaving #TextileArt #Contemporaryart #colorful

Matthias de Vogel’s practice is rooted in the transformation of discarded and reclaimed materials. Through a precise recycling process, he reworks industrial remnants and textile fragments into layered compositions that highlight memory, erosion, and material history. Rather than hiding their origins, he preserves traces of each material’s previous life, creating works that exist between structure and decay where recycling becomes both method and concept.
