Grateful for mentors who make a difference!

For Floyd Scholar Sheila Walden, her research reflects a deep interest in women’s experiences in higher education roles, particularly their experiences with bullying. Her academic journey is strengthened by the guidance and perspective of her mentors, Dr. Stacy Volnick, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Florida Atlantic University, and Dr. Jessica Lopez, Director of Online Enrollment and Student Success at Florida Atlantic University.

Their mentor-mentee relationship is a powerful example of what happens when experienced leaders share their knowledge, perspective, and encouragement with the next generation. We’re proud to celebrate Sheila, Dr. Volnick, Dr. Lopez along with all Floyd Scholars mentors who create connections that make the Floyd Scholars experience so impactful.

Our College of Business team, including Student Academic Services, Executive Education, School of Accounting, and both ITOM and Economics departments, came together to showcase our graduate programs, resources, and opportunities for prospective students.

We loved connecting with future students and sharing how the College of Business can help them take the next step toward their academic and professional goals! 💼📚

Grateful for mentors who inspire, guide, and help turn purpose into impact.

Recognizing Floyd Scholar Amber who is committed to making a difference, especially with first-generation college students and her mentor, Dr. Vanessa Kay Herrera, Director of First-Generation Student Success at Florida Atlantic University, and the meaningful relationship they share.

Having a mentor like Dr. Herrera, whose work is dedicated to supporting first-generation students, creates a powerful connection between passion and purpose. Their relationship is a reminder of how mentorship can provide encouragement, perspective, and inspiration while helping emerging leaders see the impact they can make.

We are deeply thankful for all the Floyd Scholars mentors who take the time to listen, guide, encourage, and share their experiences!
