Happy Thanksgiving 🍂🦃 - to a year that gave me so much 🥰

It’s October, and I keep thinking about how differently this year turned out from everything I had imagined.

I started the year with one big goal in mind. It didn’t happen, and somehow, that turned out to be okay because God had other plans for me.

At the beginning of the year, all I wanted was to finish school and graduate with honours. I did, and honestly, I thought that would be my big blessing for the year. Little did I know, God was just getting started.

Month by month, He gave me something I had wanted deeply since moving to Canada: my family. Somehow, one by one, the people I love found their way to me. My parents. My sisters. My partner. Visas were literally flying left and right in my family 😂 After years apart, I got to see every single member of my family.

And now it’s October, and I can genuinely say I am happier than I have been in the last three years. I feel lighter. I feel full. I feel content.

This year reminded me that sometimes the blessing you’re praying for isn’t the only blessing God has planned for you. Sometimes He gives you what He knows your heart needs most.

So this Thanksgiving, I’m simply grateful. Grateful for family, for answered prayers, for unexpected blessings, for the things that worked out differently than I planned, and for a year that gave me so much more than I expected.

Here’s to new goals, more unexpected blessings, and whatever life has waiting for me next. I’ll take it one step at a time 🤎

Magna cum laude 🎓!!!

The last 2 years have unlocked so much in me. I took classes I never thought I could handle, let alone understand 😂 but I did it. The sleepless nights, the rants, the scares, the homesickness…every single moment pulled me a little closer to this day.

To my sisters @favorite.softie x @miss.oloyede 🫶, who made this journey softer and lighter, I couldn’t have wished for better. Those girls held my hand every step of the way, became my solid foundation, and reminded me who I was when I forgot. You know what they say about a solid foundation, it keeps everything standing.

To my man @thekentoph , who got on video calls with me, breaking down physiology despite the time difference, he showed up to every call to teach me, revising with me for every midterm and every final, thank you for choosing to carry this with me, not just watch from the side.

This isn’t the end; it’s the beginning! Magna cum laude and full of gratitude 🎉. Cheers to this chapter, and to every graduand out there, wishing y’all the very best 🥂🎓
