Royal Ascot has never needed to raise its voice. The rules of the Royal Enclosure are printed plainly each year, and most of them come down to restraint: a hat with a proper base, a waistcoat and a tie, a badge where it can be seen. The rest is custom, kept because people like keeping it.

More in the Almanac, link in bio.

Which rule would you have broken?

Remember the days when you were desperate to un-knot that 9-5 noose around your neck? Once the ultimate symbol of corporate conformism, the tie has loosened up its image and gone from establishment to dissident. In the current issue of @countryandtownhouse, I examine how a new generation of men are embracing the neck tie in typically ironic fashion. With thanks to @oliverspencer @daniel.kearns and @styleography for your ten cents on the topic. 👔

Two years ago today… 🤍🤍

From the quiet anticipation of the morning preparations and that precious moment walking down the aisle, to confetti flying, chilled champagne flowing, emotional speeches, plenty of laughter and a packed dance floor.

R&O’s English countryside wedding was one of those days that seemed to have everything - a beautiful church ceremony, a stylish marquee at home, fabulous food, wonderful music and, most importantly, a couple completely caught up in every second of it.

Because when we’ve spent months planning your wedding, that’s exactly what you should be doing on the day itself.

Not clock watching. Not wondering whether a supplier has arrived. Not thinking about what's happening next.

You’re simply fully immersed. With your favourite people, experiencing the wedding you’ve planned and waited for.

Happy 2nd Anniversary R&O 🤍 What a truly memorable day it was.

And if you're planning your own English countryside wedding for 2027, why not let Weddings By Mary's Full Wedding Planning experience take care of everything from Vision to Vow for you too xx

What better way to describe Janine and Alex’s incredible wedding and their experience with me than in their words. They had me feeling all sorta emotional and I am so thankful… Alex and Janine it was an honour xx

“Jennifer, You’ve been so so amazing!! We absolutely loved having you at our wedding and seeing you while I was rushing to the church feels like seeing a friend that gave me calm and comfort before marching in!! Honestly we can’t even describe how thankful we are for you choosing to stay with us!! You made us look like celebrities and the photos throughout London was just mind blowing!!! Even the walk through the busy road, the kiss photos while everyone was busy around us! We’d never do that again in a wedding dress and you captured every single moment we loved and more. AND MY SHOE photos!!! That can go to a magazine!! You are so so talented and such a lovely lovely human being. I can only hope you enjoyed our wedding as much as we did because we loved having you!! “
