JOHNS HOPKINS HAS SOME QUESTIONS TO ANSWER.

Tomorrow night, Mahmoud Khalil will appear at Baltimore’s Parkway Theatre for his book launch — officially co-sponsored by Johns Hopkins University’s Chloe Center.

BZD was alerted to the event through a press release from the Coalition of Baltimore Region Activists (COBRA). We looked into it ourselves.

Khalil was a lead negotiator for Columbia University Apartheid Divest during the 2024 protests. He later described much of the controversy over antisemitism at Columbia as “manufactured hysteria” and defended phrases including “Globalize the Intifada.”

When asked whether October 7 was something that needed to happen to break the existing equilibrium, Khalil responded, “It’s more the latter,” calling it a “desperate attempt” to make Palestinians heard. In that same interview, he also stated that targeting civilians is wrong.

The event is presented by Red Emma’s, which is publicly listed as a participant in Apartheid-Free Baltimore.

So we have questions for Johns Hopkins:

What exactly does this co-sponsorship involve? Were university resources used? And where is the comparable intellectual diversity on Israel, Zionism and October 7?

Universities should expose people to difficult ideas. That should include competing ideas.

Baltimore’s Jewish community deserves answers.

• In the days after dystopia was allowed to blaze hellfires here on earth — that October 7th, 2023, in our sacred land, upon our cherished people 🕯️🎗️🧡 — Israelis spread the unity cry “BEYACHAD NANETZACH ! בְּיַחַד נְנַצֵּחַ” meaning: Together We Will Prevail.

Those words fueled our shattered hearts once more. The chant lit our souls & spirits from the depths of a darkness no human should ever even have to imagine, let alone live through.

It unified Judean-Israelites (Jews) the world over.

Somewhere within that early time period, that horrid Autumn — I think it was on the bus to our Washington rally — I was inspired to coin this turn of phrase that you may have often seen me repeat in comments -

“L’Shalom u’b’Hatzlachah, BeYachad NaNetzach LaNetzach

‎לְשָׁלוֹם וּבְהַצְלָחָה, בְּיַחַד נְנַצֵּחַ לָנֶצַח

Toward peace and success — together we will prevail forever”

To which I of course always add our lifeline -

עַם יִשְׂרָאֵל חַי 🤟🇮🇱

Am Yisrael Chai
The Nation of Israel Lives,

Amen אָמֵן

I’ve been meaning to post this (for around 2.5 years now, but life has been in constant upheaval to say the least, and I wanted to do these words justice as much as possible…) to share this prayer of mine that gets me through the worst of the worst, and lifts me closer to Hashem & our nation whether times are horrid, or times are hopeful…I hope it brings you the same light that inspired me to spread it…🤍💙🕊️

Full English translated lyrics are in the slides to the accompanying song:

(Thank YOU to our brave/giborim shelanu !

“Everyone will drop everything in a second if the flag calls out to them
This is not a parallel universe,
Not a @marvel reality
This is our story - the nation of Israel.”

1200 innocent people and took 250+ hostages.

I am curious how the DSA would have responded had the attack occurred on US soil.

“If the scale and nature of the October 7, 2023 attack by Hamas had been scaled proportionally and applied directly to the United States, it would mean an invading force breaching U.S. borders to kill roughly 40,000 American civilians in a single day, alongside taking thousands of American hostages.”

I’m wondering what the world’s response would’ve been. Would Annie Lennox be saying she would never play in the US again? Would Eric Clapton and Roger Waters side with the attackers? Would Piker say we deserved it? Would the mayor of New York be outside Chuck Schumer’s house screaming about an impending genocide?

I have photos on my phone of so many people I will never get to meet because terrorists took their lives. And what’s even more difficult for me to comprehend is that people I used to know and people I used to love chose the side of the terrorists. If you vote DSA, you are voting to support terrorism.

I asked Google: Why the HECK does google keep offering to show me things on al jazeerah???? The first half said, basically, because I search and write about the Middle East. But… they don’t send me articles from the Jerusalem Post or Fox News, even though I’m VERY CONSERVATIVE. The second half of the answer was scary and it answered my question. “Additionally, Al Jazeera partners deeply with Al Jazeera announces strategic partnership with Google and Al Jazeera Media Network partners with Google Cloud to introduce ‘The Core,’ an Al-driven model aimed at transforming news operations to integrate Google’s technology, which boosts their visibility in Google’s feeds.” Just what we DON’T need. More Islamic propaganda in everyone’s phone, news, education… EVERYTHING. As if having an anti semitic. Islamic mayor in NYC isn’t bad enough. This really makes me feel sick. Not surprised, but sick. @faybubby @officialbenshapiro @marcorubio @lizzysavetsky #google #aljazeerah #islamicpropaganda #yellowjournalism #algorithms i

What is our plan? What are our next steps? How do we mobilize to block this? Don’t tell me NY can’t, because NY has certainly voted in Republicans before & if ever there was a time for it IT IS NOW. @samanthaettus @shabboskest @strength4israel @lizzysavetsky @savenewyorkcity26 @aipac

"I love that this organization wraps its arms around these women and helps them feel a little less alone in the world." — Fay

Fay joined us at a Kuma evening in Woodmere, NY, where she heard two Kuma widows share their stories in person.

IDF widows carry things that never disappear: loss, responsibility, and the weight of raising children alone. Kuma can't take that away, but it can make sure no woman carries it entirely by herself. That's what the Kuma widows came to share. And what Fay heard.

Thank you, Fay, for showing up, listening, and caring ♥️
