✨ Meet your teachers! 💃

DeAnna Padrón Freeman (US)

DeAnna has studied and taught FCBD®Style belly dance (formerly American Tribal Style, or ATS®) and yoga for over 20 years. She owns and runs FatChanceBellyDance®University, the official learning source for FCBD®Style, where she oversees certification and continuing education and mentors teachers around the world.

Her dance journey began in 2004, when she met Megha, Director of Devyani Dance Company, and fell in love with FCBD®Style. She was among the very first to receive Sister Studio and Teacher Certification outside of FatChanceBellyDance®, is one of only a handful of FCBD®Style Continuing Education Instructors in the world, and was part of the inaugural FCBD®Style Advanced Teacher Training group. She has taught and performed on stages and in studios worldwide.

DeAnna is also a 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher, a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider, and a Therapeutic Yoga Specialist through Yoga Medicine®. Her classes draw on both the scientific, structural and functional elements of movement and its holistic and artistic side, in a relaxed, professional environment where students can elevate their skills safely and have fun doing it.

ATS® /FCBD®Style FLASH MOB WORL WIDE 2026/ ALUEN DANÇA TRIBAL @atsfcbdsfmww

✨ Meet your teachers! 💃

Carolena Nericcio (US)

Carolena Nericcio is the dynamic founder of FatChanceBellyDance® and creator of the worldwide dance phenomenon known as FCBD®Style (formerly American Tribal Style®).

An early fascination with permanent body adornment lead 8-year-old Carolena to request that her father, Carl, a collector himself, to buy a ring she could “wear always and not take off.” This concept evolved into the study of folkloric textiles, a body full of tattoos, and a collection of jewellery and textiles from around the world.

When she’s not traveling the globe or working at her studio, Carolena enjoys exercising, sewing, knitting, and reading.

#tbt 2020 ✨ A little throwback to the ritual of getting ready for #fcbd®style 🪷.
.
Layer by layer, detail by detail… until the outfit becomes part of the dance. ✨
-------
Un pequeño recuerdo de ese ritual que tanto disfruto: prepararme para bailar FCBD® Style🪷.
.
Capa por capa, detalle por detalle… hasta que el vestuario se convierte en parte de la danza. 🖤✨

FCBD lead/position Changes. I spent soooo much time making this animation. It’s for new students. But like how it turned out. I have a slower version.

Something wrong happened to my newsletter and for some reason it was sent out today instead of tomorrow. On top of that, it was delivered to only 34 people… that doesn’t sound like a good start! But since we’re here:

I’m incredibly honoured to be the next European host to bring you General Skills, Technique for Teachers, and Teacher Training! This will be a wild ride with @deanna.fcbdu , @kalashtribal , and @carolenanericcio (joining us online).

I’m so excited! This will be INCREDIBLE! Save the dates!
