Here's to the thin spaces. 🥂 I want to take a moment and express my deep gratitude to Jesus and for Young Life. This week I got to attend my first all-staff conference. This is an event that takes place once every four years where all the Young Life staff in the world (we're in all 50 states and over 100 countries) gather to worship, celebrate, laugh, and pray together. I went into this conference feeling spiritually like I was driving on empty. Anxiety and fear and doubt were at the front of my mind most of the day. More than training, tips, practical job help, club talk ideas, or any of that I was just hoping this trip would be the meeting with Jesus that I needed to feel alive again. I came into it knowing the Lord had more for me here personally than for my area. From the first step in the arena, worshipping with 6000 of my new best friends, I felt the Spirit present and it was like I had been shocked back to life. As I left the arena last night in tears, I knew I had been with Jesus. Will there be club talks and campaigners lessons that come out of this? Sure. Will I be a better area director because of this week? Maybe. But what matters most is I will be a better follower of Christ and a better leader and a better husband and a better friend to my friends back home. And for that I couldn't be more grateful. So here's to the friends I got to meet and reconnect with that remind me of the faithful kindness of the Father. Here's to the laughs, tears, smokes, and memories. Here's to chasing the thin spaces - those places that exist in the thin space between heaven and earth; places that feel holy. Thank you Jesus. Can't believe I get to do this. ✌🏼deuces Cali! #igotapen
