Circled back to the place that built us. 🏔️ Colorado holds a huge piece of our hearts, and it was magical to finally show it off to our babes. We dragged them to our old homes and hotspots, played in the mountains, and witnessed the awe that is CO through little eyes.

We are eternally attached to this place because of the people. Some of our dearest framily welcomed us in, we celebrated a bestie who married her person, and we picked up right where we left off with some beautiful people. 🤍✨

We’ll be back once Lennie is in a booster seat (IYKYK 😆)!

I am honored by how many times celebrated show creator Patrick Macmanus has requested me to be his Q&A moderator for the @televisionacademyfoundation, @seriesfest and more!

From our many Q&A discussions around his hit television shows like Dr. Death, Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy and The Girl from Plainville, Patrick & I have built a comfortable playfulness between one another over the years, while also not shying away from discussing the uncomfortable topics that are worth addressing.

The @littleton_road’s founder, whom I now proudly see as a trusted friend, kindly shared with me his thoughts on my dedicated and intentional Q&A moderating abilities:

“When you’re on the road discussing a show or sitting on a panel dissecting the industry, there are certain questions that have to be asked by any moderator. It’s incumbent on them to do so. Jeff checks those boxes and then pops a hidden door in the space. Asks a question that seems out in left field. And then we realize it’s the heart of what we should always be talking about. SeriesFest, you were an absolute dream! @randikleiner, @kailymorgansmith, @fclairetaylor, and the entire programming, staff, and volunteer teams - thank you thank you for building and nurturing such a supportive environment for the independent TV community. From the insightful panels, to the inspiring films, to the super fun parties, @seriesfest was a 10/10.

@birthisfor also had the incredible honor of taking home three awards - the Audience Award for Best Digital Short, the Outstanding Series Format Deck Presented by @canva Award, and Honorable Mention Ensemble Performance. The last two slides pretty much sum up how I feel. 💕

There are moments in your life that feel almost too big to fully process while they’re happening. Those nights, clearly designed by God.

This was one of them. ✨

Standing on the stage in that gold dress felt a little like my Mia Thermopolis moment. Between the incredible diamonds I was dripping in courtesy of Raz at Gnat Jewelry (that flower ring I have dreams about), the gorgeous last minute Nordstrom dress my mother grabbed as we walked in, to the honor of receiving the Ambassador Award, I was having a hard time believing I was actually there.

I wish I could bottle that feeling.

The feeling of being recognized by a community I deeply admire. The feeling of sharing space with storytellers whose work has inspired me. The feeling of having one of my best girls, my ride or die, my mom, by my side as my date for a night I’ll never forget.

I’m especially grateful to family - real, found, and creative who have poured into me and invested in me when it mattered most. Thank you specifically to Shondaland, whose belief in me has changed the trajectory of my life and career in ways I’m still discovering.

Thank you SeriesFest for this incredible honor, for championing emerging voices, and for creating spaces where storytellers can be fully seen.

That night I said in my speech, “For anyone who has ever been considered ‘other,’ there is space for you. And I will use this award as a torch to help light your path.”

And I meant it. ✨

Hall of Famers Goose Gossage and Ferguson Jenkins were among those who came to #Denver (along with Chicago @whitesox White organist Nancy Faust, inventor of baseball’s walk-up song) for the world-premiere screening of “My Father, Dick Allen,” a developing five-part documentary series on the life of a largely misunderstood superstar who overcame unrelenting abuse and racism on his 50-year path to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. It all went down at @seriesfest and the Sie FilmCenter. It’s my Sunday column (with video) for @denvergazette.

Very humbled to have been awarded the Best Director award in the Drama category for Independent Pilot at @seriesfest i met so many amazing filmmakers and loved every film I saw. I really have to thank all my amazing collaborators. A director contributes nothing physical to a film- only ideas. Thank you to everyone who allowed me to guide THEIR talents. To date, our pilot has 1.2 million views exclusively within the American Prison system where it is distributed directly to incarcerated individuals on video tablets (yeah, I didn’t know that existed either before this). Myself, along with the co-creators of these stories are so honored to steward these testimonies.
