(No press, care media? No honey. :)) )

🔥 Byzantine emperors, medieval battlefields and the Crusades are not exactly the subjects one would expect to encounter on a 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐩𝐮𝐧𝐤 record. Yet this is precisely where the Romanian members of @__vomitt.band__, active since 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟏, find their inspiration, bringing a fascination with the Eastern Roman Empire together with 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥, 𝐩𝐮𝐧𝐤, 𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥 and 𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐤’𝐧’𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥. From the early days of “𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐲” to “𝐌𝐨𝐭ö𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐬”, their music has continued to shift and pick up new influences, while keeping its underground character firmly intact.

Ahead of their appearance at @spearsofwallachiafest 𝐈𝐈, taking place on 𝟏𝟑 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 at @clubquantic in Bucharest, Romania, I sat down with 𝐕ö𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫 [vocals, bass, guitars] to discuss their musical evolution, the history behind their lyrics, and what they have planned for the future.

Today, after 11 years, we're returning to @summerbreezeopenair with @hackneyedofficial. This one is going to be emotional. For the band, but also for me personally. 🥹

Without my favorite festival - born in my hometown of Abtsgmünd and calling Dinkelsbühl home since 2006 - I might never have found my way into metal in the first place. 😯
And then, in 2014, I had the incredible honor of performing there with @hackneyedofficial for the very first time. A childhood dream come true. 🤘🤩

Now we're back at @summerbreezeopenair with @hackneyedofficial for one last dance. At 20:45 CET, we'll hit the Campsite Circus Stage and see what awaits us. I'm excited, grateful and honestly, I already know one thing: There will be goosebumps. Lots of them. 🖤🪿

Two weeks ago today, we had the honor of being the very first band to hit the Andrei Calmuc Stage on the first day of @rockstadtfest.official - and we made sure to show the metalheads right from the start how death metal is supposed to sound in 2026! 😉🔥

🔥 “ᴍᴇᴛᴀʟ ɪꜱ ᴅᴇᴀᴛʜ. ᴅᴇᴀᴛʜ ɪꜱ ᴍᴇᴛᴀʟ. ɴᴜɴꜱʟᴀᴜɢʜᴛᴇʀ, ᴅᴇᴀᴛʜ ᴍᴇᴛᴀʟ”.

In just a few words, that is how the attitude of the members of @nunslaughter.official could be summed up. 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦, 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 @clubquantic 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐡𝐨𝐰. And Bucharest, even beneath the threat of a storm, welcomed them with an incendiary reception.

But before the gig organised by 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 began, an interview with 𝐃𝐨𝐧 took place.

Don spoke at length about his early days with 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, the 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥 band formed in 𝟏𝟗𝟖𝟓, about the transition to death metal and, naturally, the [unholy]birth of Nunslaughter, about how 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐥 𝐊𝐨𝐧𝐲𝐚, known as 𝐉𝐢𝐦 𝐒𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭, motivated the band, and about the new album, “𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐨𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬”. He also spoke about their future plans, which include 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥-𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡.

🔥Sometime around 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟗, things were stirring in the Romanian 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭-𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥 sphere. Everything that was moving at the time would come to bear the name @maunasolband. The effort largely belongs to 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐬 𝐋𝐢𝐜𝐮, also known from 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐮𝐧, to whom other passionate artists were added: 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧, 𝐈𝐨𝐧𝐮ț 𝐂ăț𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐮, 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐢 𝐑𝐞𝐧ț𝐞𝐚 and 𝐁𝐨𝐠𝐝𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐭𝐮.

These people turned towards themes concerning self-knowledge as revelation, where inner exploration becomes a passage through an empty, unmarked terrain, far from others, a space stripped of bearings and witness alike, where temptation, anguish, doubt, and the slow labour of reconstructing one’s identity no longer remain abstract ideas but solidify into lived presences, endured alone, in silence, without reprieve.

After they felt their compositions had reached the threshold they set for themselves, the members of the group released “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠” on 𝟏𝟓 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 via @loudragemusic. “The Calling”, which contains eight tracks, was also the subject of discussion in the interview, conducted just before the concert at @clubquantic in Bucharest, Romania, on 𝟗 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.

𝒪𝓃 𝒶 𝒯𝓊𝑒𝓈𝒹𝒶𝓎 𝓃𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉, 𝓇𝑒𝒻𝓁𝑒𝒸𝓉𝒾𝑜𝓃 𝓉𝑜𝑜𝓀 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓈𝓉𝒶𝑔𝑒.

🔥 There are those Tuesdays when everything follows its familiar course. You wake up, go to work, return home, and spend the evening with a video game or a movie. Then there are the unusual Tuesdays that pull you away from routine and send you exactly where you ought to be. Places such as @clubquantic in Bucharest, Romania.

𝟗 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 was precisely that kind of Tuesday.

Under one roof stood three bands: @groza_blackmetal, @genune.band [𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥], and @maunasolband [𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭-𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥].

Three bands.

Three questions that surfaced throughout the evening.

Because music invites reflection. It encourages us to search within ourselves for questions and, perhaps, a few answers.

🔥 When the sky cracked open, the hawk flew above a cursed blade.

Thus, in but a handful of words, might one recount the story that unfurled at @clubquantic in Bucharest on 𝟗 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔. That evening, the Romanian scene beheld and heard three names: two sprung from our own soil, @ashaenaband and @bucovinaofficial, and one borne from Sweden, @thyrfingofficial. The occasion was defined by 𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥, 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐤 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥, and 𝐯𝐢𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠/𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥, and marked by returns and first appearances upon the stage. 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐛𝐲, 𝐓𝐡𝐲𝐫𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐛𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧.

What might otherwise have faded into a dull and forgettable night became, instead, one worthy of being carried in memory.
