For the first time in 10 weeks my house is completely silent. The last of players pulled out of the driveway today going back to school. No more late night dinners after training, no more random conversations about life, our thoughts and opinions on Harry Potter, their goals and plans after graduation, no more early morning Starbies and Sam’s runs.

I’m not going to lie I was hesitant to agree to being host family, not because of anything other than these guys are growing and the grocery bill slightly scared me 😂 But I am so glad I said yes! We hosted 4 players total(2 at time), with a 3rd for a few nights. They came from all over the world with different back grounds simply brought together by the love of the game.

If you ever get a chance to host an athlete or a student whether it be for a few weeks, a season, a semester or a school year….do it! You won’t regret it!

Now the perks of hosting these guys is they happen to know their way around Cali, so they get to host me and show me around their city very soon!

P.S. the game Saturday will be interesting with the added commentary from our favorite Englishman.
