POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’ve spent the last week trying out some framing, photographing some archived pieces and getting them ready to go live on www.linearbodies.com later this week 🥰 a small collection of prints and original paintings will be available for the last time before we make way for new collections and studies. I’ll also be uploading some of my initial sketches from my sketchbook, and the first five purchases will be gifted a mirror sticker! The website goes live on Thursday!

Anyone who’s been paying any attention during the past three years knows how not “complicated” this is 😒
Excuse us while we focus on the fact refugee tents were fired upon in the middle of the night, not some gutless millionaire musician.

FWENDS!!! It’s my mom’s birthday!!! 🎉🎂

And even though I already gave her the best gift (my presence), I’m asking you to help me celebrate her special day by supporting something super close to her heart 💖

If you’d like to make her day extra special, you can donate to @spcakk an animal shelter in Sabah, Malaysia that helps care for, rescue, and rehabilitate stray dogs and cats, in her honor.

Every little bit helps my family and friends back in Sabah who are in need of safety, love, and care 💛🐾

You can give through the campaign page or Venmo using the 🔗 in bio

Help me show my mom all the love today!!!

In this final week of Women’s History Month, I wanted to share something I created for the women who give so much of themselves, often without recognition or appreciation.

Labour. The invisible labor.
The emotional, mental, and physical weight women carry every single day.

The first time I heard “Labour” by Paris Paloma, something shifted in me.
I felt seen. I felt heard. I played it on repeat, sent it to my friends, and sat with the truth of it.

For so long, many of us didn’t have language for what we were carrying.
We thought this was just what love looked like - holding everything together, anticipating needs, absorbing emotions, managing the invisible.

No one called it labor. And we didn’t either.
We called it being strong. Being capable. Being the one who can handle it.

And somewhere along the way, what we gave stopped being seen… and simply became expected.

So I did what I know how to do when something moves me deeply, I created.

The woman you see here has carried this labor for decades. She’s not an actor. She is you. She is me.

She is a woman who has lived this. Who has carried this kind of labor in the quiet ways, in the unseen ways, in partnership, in motherhood,
in the spaces where love and labor blur so easily.

The weight you see in this piece is not imagined.
It is remembered.

25 years of sisterhood.
25 years of witnessing each other’s lives,
the visible and the invisible,
the quiet holding,
the carrying no one else sees.

I have watched her give, hold, and keep going.
And I know her story is not hers alone.

We created this piece as a love letter to all women who give, hold, and keep going.

For the invisible weight carried without acknowledgment.

And for the quiet, deliberate choice so many of us are making,
to no longer disappear inside what we give.

To name it.
To see it.
To honor it.

To every woman doing the unseen labor:
We see you.

She’s so ✨EmOCEANal✨. Happy new moon in Pisces and last day of fish szn. Last night I listened to an audio story by @chaninicholas on the @chani.app that described how the constellation of Pisces came into being in Greek and Roman mythology.

It got me thinking about the ways we must carve space out for self-reflection, contemplation, and day dreaming, while realising that the reason we must do this is as an ethic of care to others, others whom we always remain tethered to. That is to say, it made me think that the Pisces myth provides a model of dis/connection that’s helpful during a time like this: a time when we need to harness our individual, creative potential as a matter of survival at the same time as we must, as a practice of love, “Try and understand […] never look away. And never, never to forget” (Arundhati Roy).

I will flesh this idea out for the grid when I have more spoons/my brain fog is less thick 😪. (Fun fact: I use the Guava app to track my chronic illnesses and last year it deduced that my mascot was Drowsy Dolphin — slide 8. One of my nicknames is Dani Delfina and given that I battle so much with chronic fatigue this deduction is, well, apt 😭😂!)

For now, may you go gently, and may our collective day dreams of a softer, more just world never stop swimming towards a material reality. 🌊🐟🐟🪢♓️💭
