The Taper Pt. I
I’ve never been the best at tapering. I dial down but my idea of “dialled down” isn’t exactly what fits the description of what a taper truly means.

I guess a change of scenery has helped this time around. Seeing the sights of our beautiful country (…and Castle St) definitely kept the mind occupied and provided a nice break from everything else in my life at present. Gave me a real chance to take a step back and just enjoy the moment and where I was in it.

Now we’re home again and the emotions of bringing this training block to an end and ticking into race week have hit. It’s been a block built around one phrase “keep finding a way.”
What you’ve seen is the synopsis of the effort that’s gone in. What nobody has seen is what’s gone on around it to enhance or inhibit me in some way, shape, or form. Not every brick was laid as easily as one another, but one thing that is for certain is that they all went down. And as soon as I take my place along King Edward Parade on Sunday morning, I can safely say the suffering is over and the celebration begins.

⚽️ SMALL LEG SESSION, BIG RESULTS! 💪🔥

You don’t need a crazy workout to become a better footballer.

Building stronger legs means more power, better balance, quicker movements and more confidence on the pitch. ⚡️

Just a little leg session putting in the work behind the scenes. 📈

💬 FOOTBALLERS: How often do you train legs each week? 👇

📌 Save this for your next leg day!

So proud of Ashley for completing her first race and our two youngest runners for crushing their fun run! Watching the people you love challenge themselves and have fun doing it is what it’s all about.

MCLAREN VALE 10K 🍇

First event ever!! Had a lot of fun apart from the hills 😂 but very stoked with the time and new 10k PB!

One down… what’s next?

42.2km of running, a very unexpected PB, several questionable financial decisions and enough carbs to concern a medical professional.

melbourne, you were lovely 🫶🏼

A 10 minute PB but I would be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed. I know I have so much more in the tank and I’ll get there one day but that’s the name of the game and that’s why we love it 🤷🏼‍♂️

Always such a good atmosphere out there on race day though, I probs wouldn’t have made it if it wasn’t for the crowd!

Shoutout to the dawg @hoffmanperformance for guiding me to this result, keen to see what we can build in the future 🫡

Hyrox up next to finish off the year, let’s rip 🕺

🎥 : also thanks to @joecarm.mp4 for this dope clip x
