#throwback to that time I modeled for @plusmodelmag
💫
This was around 2011 and I honestly believed I was retired from modeling before I was booked for this shoot.

Meeting Mia Amber, changed my life and she had the same effect on almost everyone who met her. I had just moved from Chicago as a store manager for @byashleystewart to NYC and recognized her from add campaigns, totally starstruck when I told her that. We only knew each other for 3 years before leaving us on this earthly plane and during that time she encouraged me to start a jewelry line, attended one of my first @fennimas markets and bought a piece, wrote up a review on her blog and told me my jewelry reminded her of carnival. She had a magical way of making everyone around her feel important and valued, she touched so many people. It feels like yesterday ripping and running with @monifclarke which first introduced me to Mia, who was modeling at one of her @monifcplussizes shoots when I was just a baby fashion designer assistant and the @plusmodelmag crew, meant so many hangs at BBQs, turning heads at a table full of plus models! Thank you @plusjones for your tribute posts which inspired me to look up these old photos from 2008-2011. Love and miss you Mia and these special moments will always be remembered.

📿Prayer beads: another life line. I’ve been using them at least once a day to chant and meditate on healing, compassionate justice and ascension for humanity. Saying a mantra or affirmation/prayer in repetition, these beads acting as a counter and something to help maintain focus. There is special power in extended counts of 9’s: for example saying a prayer 108 or 54 times puts your brain in to a certain state as to achieve awareness, inspiration, peace, bliss, hope, and total isness or oneness. Through continued use the beads get charged up over time and when worn under the clothes when your energy and humanness need extra support, it can serve as a tool for protection, healing and grounding. Only to be worn on the outside of clothes when in use or leading spiritual activity, otherwise just like a medicine pouch, they are sacred and to be tucked away to do their work where the thought forms of others won’t dilute its power. Do you use a Japa Mala or Rosary? This beauty honors the divine mother as Guadalupe 🙏🏽🌻with lapis, turquoise, clear quartz and lotus seeds.🌹Prayer beads and pouch, @fennimas made with divine intention.
