Join us Friday at SoHI Studios for our third installment of backyard movie nights @AdamDunnShow after party. As the days get shorter and the nights get longer, this brings us a perfect opportunity to get together and watch some classic stoner movies this week “ Cheech and Chong‘s next movie” which follows the legendary comedy duo as they stumble through a wildly unpredictable day of loud music, borrowed cars, bad ideas, and nonstop Los Angeles misadventures. When jobs, girlfriends, neighbors, and Cheech’s cousin Red collide, the result is an out-of-this-world stoner-comedy classic.

I live in a upstairs apartment so there's not much room for a garden, but I saw a spot that looked like it needed a makeover. There's two sides: I'm totally against tilling and once this is made next year it will be no till but I had to till and loosen the ground with a rake.then I spread 20 lbs of compost,5 lbs worm castings, and 5 lbs of rice hulls all to get some nutrients and aeration before I put my actual soil in. If your wondering I'm using 45 lbs of my soil that I made based on the 1/3 method then I'm mixing it with two cubic feet of buildasoil 3.0 ,that will be my top soil and soil for my planters. On the other side I'm putting drain plates with rows of wild flowers.on the drain plates I'll have 2 5 gallon living soil pots for my herbal teas that are finiky,2 wide and shallow planters for my chives, garlic chives, and lemon grass, then I have two tri-pots for 6 different kinds of mint,I wanted pots for that so they don't spread,I'll be setting that up within a week or so all will be ready to plant and transplant may 1st!

My good friend @fermentedplantextracts always talks about using the waste streams around you. The things most people throw away often hold the most life.

Now more than ever, we need to learn how to close the loop. Not just in farming, but in our communities.

What’s considered waste this week can become food for the soil… and eventually food for the soul.

This is how real community is built. Through soil, through sharing, through simple exchanges between people who care.

When I stopped by this brewery, you already know I came bearing gifts from the garden. Fresh produce for the crew.

And this year I’ll be pulling up with a big harvest for them.

They helped me out big time with this spent grain… and around here nothing goes to waste.
