I was growing tired of just drawing ✍️ on white paper, so for the Fracture Prompt, I decided to show an image of the Tyrannosaurus rex, 🦖 Sue, at the Field Museum in Chicago. And an x-ray 🩻 of one of the fractures in her ribs. All on tan toned paper. I haven’t done toned paper drawings in a while. So based on a photo of Sue’s ribs I photographed in Chicago 3 years ago, and a silhouette 👤 of her by Scott Hartman, I outlined in pencil, ✏️ before adding in black ink ✍️ then erasing. Finally, for the lighting effect, I used my white gel pen. Sue had recovered from many of these injuries. Her ribs healed. I also added the rest of the injuries on her body. Although most of them healed, she died from the parasite 🦠 wounds on her lower jaw. You can see Sue 🦖 in the bones 🦴 and flesh at the Field Museum in Chicago, Illinois. She’s one of the Most Intact T.rexes in the World! 🌎 #INKTOBER2026 @inktober @inktober_2026 #INKTOBERFracture #SuetheTrex #SuetheTyrannosaurusrex @fieldmuseum @fernbankmuseum #PALEOPuppeteerProductions

I do also bake, so for BAKE, this is just a quick sketch of a marble cake 🍰 with a chocolate 🍫 T.rex skull on top. We do marble cakes every year for my birthday and Fossil Day! For the chocolate 🍫 and vanilla layers represent the layers of the earth. 🌎 #INKTOBER2026 @inktober @inktober_2026 #INKTOBERBake #MarbleCake #FossilDay @foodnetwork @fernbankmuseum #PALEOPuppeteerProductions

Beware of the Siats! 🦖 (The Man Eating Monster) Roaming our world today! Actually it’s named after a creature in Native American 🇺🇸 Ute Mythology. But, if it really were alive today, it would probably be eating man as its Name Sakes! Based on the original, 30 foot long, 8 to 9 foot tall, 4 ton juvenile fossil specimen, I can envision that an adult was a 40 foot long, 10 to 12 foot tall, 5 to 6 ton animal. A giant serial killer. Maybe the Largest of its Kind! Once again, Watch, “Man Eating Monster,” (Inspired by, “The End of Oak Street!”) in the First Screening of the 48 Hour Halloween 🎃 👻 Puppet Film 🎞️ 🎥 Project 2026, on the Green Feather 🪶 Foundation YouTube Channel. #48HourHalloweenPuppetFilmProject #ManEatingMonster #Siats #Siatsmeekerorum @handmadepuppetdreams @greenfeatherorg @alexugriffin @theninjapuppet @stephanie.dabruzzo @kevincarlson1962 @zannolablive @naturalsciences @fernbankmuseum @fieldmuseum @endofoakstreet @paleojimkirkland @lvsnhmuseum #PALEOPuppeteerProductions

Happy Fossil Friday! I’m taking a break from hand drawn stuff to post about this scary dinosaur 🦖 from New Mexico in the Late Cretaceous, 73 million years ago, named 2 months ago! Meet Dinevenator robustus. (The Robust Dine Hunter) Dine, as in the Navajo name for themselves. This was a small but deadly relative of Troodon. 10 feet long, 4 feet tall, and a weight of 150 to 300 pounds. It was originally mistaken for either Saurornitholestes or the previous named Troodontid from Mexico, 🇲🇽 Xenovenator. Comparing the only known bone from the forehead to the others proved it was new. 🆕 Troodontids were some of the most intelligent dinosaurs 🦖 that ever lived. These feathered creatures had big brains 🧠 for dinosaurs their size. But one from Alaska was 4 to 5 feet tall. Named for their wounding teeth with jagged edges. But they are believed to have also eaten fruit. Making them omnivorous. They may have been nocturnal predators, they had huge eyes like an owl. 🦉 Also, these owl 🦉 like theropods had a killing claw on each foot like the raptors, used the same way as owl 🦉 talons. To immobilize their prey. #FossilFriday #NewDinosaur #Dinevenator #Troodontid @newmexicodinomuseum #PALEOPuppeteerProductions

I’m taking a break from Inktober to post what I’ve put in their story, and post some Halloween 🎃 👻 stuff! Even a quick sketch would be a great image. I did this lounging Eremotherium (The Giant Panamerican Ground Sloth) 🦥 for the LOUNGE Prompt, just before I went to bed. 🛌 This sloth 🦥 was too big to live in a tree. 🌳 It was a 5 ton animal. So it’s land based. Which is why they’re called ground sloths. As well as being giant land animals, they would have slept on the ground too. You’ve probably seen that I reconstructed this Ice Age giant from Georgia and the rest of Southeastern North America, 🇺🇸 and the West Indies, many times before. It’s also a character I’m doing for, “The Making of Georgia.” If not, I would highly recommend checking them out! #INKTOBER2026 @inktober @inktober_2026 #INKTOBERLounge #Eremotheriumlaurillardi #GiantGroundSloth @georgia @georgiapaleo @fernbankmuseum #PALEOPuppeteerProductions

I immediately had an idea for the FLIGHTLESS prompt. Many people think ostriches, dodos, 🦤 Great Auks, penguins, 🐧 but I chose a Giant Moa. A South Island 🏝️ Giant Moa. The tallest and heaviest bird that ever walked the earth! 🌏 it was 12 feet tall, and was half the weight of a car! 🚗 They roamed New Zealand 🇳🇿 for thousands of years. And they were vegetarians. 🌱 Ancient Maori people have encountered it, and its predator the Haast’s Eagle. 🦅 Definitely creatures that I think should be in the next Moana movie, because they existed at the same time as the Maori who set foot in New Zealand, 🇳🇿 1200 years ago. A living, breathing dinosaur 🦕 that humans have encountered! It was hard to draw the legs, 🦵 because they have long ankle bones. 🦴 As I did my research, 🧐 I read that Moas had blue heads, and dark brown feathers. 🪶 Based on mummified feathers 🪶 and skin they found intact! So I added that with colored pencils. #INKTOBER2026 @inktober @inktober_2026 #INKTOBERFlightless #DinornisRobustus #SouthIslandGiantMoa #NewZealand @tuhuraotagomuseum @aucklandmuseum @canterburymuseum @100newzealand @100pasifika @purenewzealand @fernbankmuseum @zooatl
