Symposium Silent Auction Spotlight: Amy Hsieh @fernet.love Amy Hsieh is a second-generation Chinese Canadian artist raised in the American South and now based in the Pacific Northwest. After two decades in the tech industry, she returned to her longtime passion for art, earning an MA in Jewelry and Metal Arts from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Working primarily in metal, this artist creates delicate, sculptural jewelry that explores constraint, identity, and the boundaries of adornment. Drawing inspiration from history, fashion, and artists such as Elsa Schiaparelli and Gijs Bakker, her concept-driven work combines precision with unconventional forms and multiple configurations. 🗓 Auction opens October 3rd!

After transitioning from a corporate career, she earned a Masters in Jewelry and Metal Arts at the Academy of Art University. She lives with her partner and four (and counting) rescue dogs in Seattle and soon to be Montreal This piece is part of, From Wave to Shining Wave: a Celebration of Phil Baldwin and Shining Wave Metals Baldwin. It’s fun to get a closer look and even more fun with his wife Kim Cooperman! We’ve done it for the past couple of years and the artists seems to really enjoy it. Every year our jurors choose alternates who would participate in competition in the event that a selected ring is unable to compete due to damage in shipping or other unforeseen reasons. This year 5 rings were selected. None competed in the primary competition however we did host a Bonus Battle which John Sullivan claimed the win in with his magnificent ring, Gimbal.
