I still don’t really know how to express the magnitude of this moment, but I’ll try.

Working on @daisychainfields has been one of the most joyful, cathartic, creative and beautiful experiences of my life. It started with one visionary woman: @oliviarodrigo. And over the last year, she has graciously invited one woman after another to join her beautiful vision, and in doing so, she has created a revolution of joyful defiance.

From the women artists across generations who agreed to perform for free, to each of the 10 non-profit organizations lifting up women and girls in their unique and beautiful ways, to the tireless women behind the scenes showing just how EASY hard work can be when purpose, respect and kindness are at the forefront of the business plan, the vision never wavered. Every moment that should have felt overwhelming felt like doing an obstacle course with your new best friends at summer camp. There was no ego, no fear and no shrinking ourselves when things got tough. There WAS plenty of laughter, support, respect, hard work and late nights. And as we kept moving forward, every new woman to join the team fit the bill: incredibly competent, ambitious, whip-smart and strong. It must be said that the men involved also rocked!

And then there was the festival. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to sum up the electric feeling of that day. 8-year-old girls screaming the lyrics to “Rebel Girl.” Fans waiting in line for hours to learn more about advocating for women’s rights. The uncanny safety felt for the first time in a festival crowd. Shaking ass with Doechii and jumping with Chappell and crying collective tears when Olivia and Stevie sang “Landslide.” I will never forget that day. And I am SO excited to do it again.

Thank god for Olivia Rodrigo. She deserves all the praise for creating so much good in a world that doesn’t feel so good lately. $20M is going to save many women’s lives, and even more women’s livelihoods.

Joy is revolution. Community is revolution. Don’t let them tear us apart or tear us down. Keep the daisy chain going. 🌼
