POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Day 75/? of my intermittent trawl through my record collection. The 75th release in my collection; a record with not much information on the outside @thebanner ‘s 2008 release ‘Frailty’. Black vinyl with silver splatter. Released by Suburban Home Records in 2008, cd was released by @ferretrecords

So this is possibly the first vinyl record from a mystery box I ordered from Suburban Home Records in early 2009. I *think* Suburban was on a downward spiral by this point and didn’t put much else out. There’s a few other notable (at least to me) vinyl records that I’ve kept from this box (and probably a few that I don’t remember came from here). I do remember taking some I wasn’t impressed by to trade at Plastic Wax Records on Cheltenham Road in Bristol (which is still there and so assume still well worth checking out).

$25?! I’m still in shock!

the stickers have this dated somewhere around ‘04. when I chatted with the guy at the thrift, he said they had just carried it in and it wasn’t even priced quite yet. said “some rich guy was downsizing and just getting rid of everything”

**if you are this rich guy pls I’m begging what else ya got!!!

Every Time I Die - Hot Damn! (Ferret Records 2003)

Unfortunately a timely one for today. First, RIP Andy Williams. A guy I never knew, but seemed to have a positive impact on the world and our shared scene specifically.

Around the time this record came out, I think I was seeing ETID often and usually enjoying them. I liked this record too, but “Hot Damn!” was the last of theirs that I ever bought.

It was almost immediately evident that the band was headed for something else outside of hardcore/metalcore. It was a place/style/sound I wasn’t interested in though. This dropped the Summer after I graduated and I think that’s where I veered much harder into straight forward hardcore. The fashionable shit that came along with bands like ETID, Bleeding Through, 18V, etc was just never for me. This record leaned into that. Still, I always came back to listen to all of their records and there is some very very good stuff past this. Probably their best was yet to come if you ask their real fans.

This though was their peak for me.

GWEN STACY - THE LIFE I KNOW 💿
SEALED IN MINT CONDITION

“Set aside
Sent with no intent to return
What am I to expect
When I don’t understand
Here is the life I know

When everything you know
Crumbles before your eyes
It becomes a battle to breathe
Under the weight of disappointment
The places I knew to be home seem strange
I feel the farthest from the ones I love the most”

Misery Signals ~ Controller/Mirrors

Happy 20th anniversary to Mis Sigs 2nd full length Mirrors!

Highly unlikely we will ever see a vinyl treatment of Mirrors on its own, so very grateful to own a copy of this monster!

25 Years Ago, August 14th, 2001, @fataofficial dropped their debut album, Too Bad You're Beautiful. This album is fkn insane, this band is insane. This vinyl reissue is awesome as it also has the Sin, Sorrow and Sadness ep included as bonus tracks. Hellz Yeah. #fromautumntoashes #vinyl #anniversary #posthardcore #metal

Karl's first show with Misery Signals performing "A Victim, a Target" and "In Response to Stars" live in Milwaukee.

Remember when they put out the call for a new singer on Myspace and dropped the tracks with no vocals? Would love to hear those submissions now.

If you're into what we're doing, follow along. And if you've got old tapes collecting dust, let us know, we'd be stoked to preserve them!
