Meet Gaia, my hat for the 2027 @hautedogscalendar.

Named after the Greek goddess of the Earth, she was made for Earth Day: a celebration of everything that grows, buzzes and blooms. Using traditional millinery techniques, I created a floating bow framed by it hand-painted silk flowers and beaded bumble bees.

Modelled by me, Stevie, Tina and cover girl Madeline. This hat will be auctioned later this year to raise even more funds for Fetcher Dog.

Just found out it's national dog adoption day 🥹 and tomorrow we've had Kiwi for 7 weeks.

7 weeks of being your momma, 1 whole week of positive reinforcement training and today we finally went out on the most beautiful walks and I couldn't be prouder of you.

Being a dog owner, especially to an adopted one that you didn't know anything about takes patience, commitment and a hella lotta curiosity and I am 100% dedicated to all of those with her. You've become my absolute furry best mate and I cannot wait for all the adventures ahead. Next stop the Peak District for our first hike 👀

First up, a warm welcome to Eddie, who'd like to introduce himself. ⁠

Hi, I’m Eddie 👋🐾⁠
⁠
I’m 12 years young, and I’ve been waiting for someone to take me home for over 3 years now.⁠
⁠
In fact, I’ve been at the rescue longer than any of the other dogs. And in all that time, I haven’t received a single adoption application. Not one 💔⁠
⁠
I’m not quite sure why, because I have so much love to give.⁠
⁠
I’m a sweet, friendly boy who absolutely loves affection (and my toys!). I might be getting a little older, but I’ve still got plenty of energy and would love nothing more than to enjoy regular walks with someone by my side.⁠
⁠
Life hasn’t always been easy for me. I came into rescue through no fault of my own, and after being attacked by another dog, I can sometimes feel nervous and get a reactive around other dogs, particularly when I’m on the lead.⁠
⁠
I’ve also lived quite a sheltered life these past few years, so I’ll need someone patient who can help me build my confidence, continue my training and show me what life in a loving home can be like.⁠
⁠
I know I might not be the easiest dog to adopt. But I promise I have so much love left to give, and I’d really like the chance to give it to someone ❤️⁠
⁠
Three years is a long time to wait for someone to choose you. And at 12 years old, I really hope I won't have to wait much longer.⁠
⁠

Four years ago today, @fetcherdog picked our Lils up off the side of the road in Sarajevo. Yesterday, she gave me a look because I stopped scratching her bum as she laid on the sofa. Unbelievable entitlement.
