The end of an era. Breaks my heart to see it close.

I was lucky enough to get seven years of racing at that little drag strip built on the outskirts of an airport. Thanks to a little car club I was introduced to what racing could be. I was hooked from the first run. There was nothing quite like racing under the lights to get your mind off of college classes and life’s stresses. Thank you for the amazing memories from Test N’ Tune to Runday Sunday to some Saturday night shootouts. This fast little 1/8th mile was truly something special.

Someone reminded me I didn’t post March’s Race Day so here it is!

After finally refining the rear suspension setup in the car by doing BMR Upper and Lower Control arms paired with poly bushings, stiffer coilovers springs, and Bilstein Quad Shocks, the handling difference proved to get another second out of the car! (Shoutout @mikeycap0224 with the install help) For reference, I’m on completely bald and heat cycled V730s from over the past year with diminished grip ability, so the fact I’m still finding insane amounts of time while on crappy rubber is absurd!

Set a new PB on Saturday’s T&T to a 33.071. Once I get on Vitour P-01Rs I’m expecting to get another second out!

Also, don’t hate it till you try it is something I learned this weekend! I got the privilege to drive @thatmodel3’s car and actually went a whole second faster in his car than my own… which is wild. Teslas can in fact move and they’re actually a ton of fun if you can get past the fact there’s no engine noise!

Sunday was awesome. Ran the fastest out of 4 other drivers in SM. Each time I kept improving and dialed the car by the 3rd run and my god, it’s fast. I’m really excited to get the P-01Rs now! Ended with my fastest time being a 74.658 (I think) and was about 4 seconds faster than 2nd place. Great weekend and had a TON of fun!

Vlog is out for the weekend and if you want to watch, the link to my YouTube is in my bio! These videos always cover the weekends in detail and I go into depth with what I do with the car to get it set up right.

I’ll see ya’ll in April! 🏎️💨

May’s Autocross weekend was a lot of fun! Track temps were pretty extreme on Saturday, at about 105-110 degrees. Thankfully the P-01Rs LOVE heat and got more grip off the launch and through my practice run, allowing me to get my T&T PB down to a 32.117. So close to 31s!

Sunday I was fighting for first, and it was NOT easy. The course was an 1/8th mile drag race into the first turn, and my car was probably the slowest in straight line speed in the SM class. I ran a 9.1 1/8th time which was pretty neat though!

First run I ran a 61.XXX and while it was clean, one of the corner workers mistakenly said I went off course. After reviewing ALL of my footage (360 cam, helmet, dash) I saw no errors in my first run.

Second run I tidied it up a little bit, but nailed a cone on the second half which dropped my time down from a low 61 to a 63. This put me in 3rd place for a little bit.

Third run, I finally got the heat into the tires that I needed and they kept this car GLUED to the floor. Ran a 60.493 and it put me back up to the top, about 9/10th’s of a second away from second place.

The 4th run I hit a cone and wasn’t anything special other than it being a Hail Mary in hopes to get a 59. Didn’t get quite there but was SO close.

I had a ton of fun racing with the group I had in street mod last weekend, and I’m especially glad to see the WRXs that were competing last year run it again!

Hoping for the future that I can get a stiffer rear sway bar and a watts link for the rear to limit that side to side chassis movement. It was apparent on the turnaround my inside tire was just openly spinning (I left a nasty tire mark there) but the second weight got back on it, the car got grip again. This should help me with corner exit by a long shot!

Till next month! See y’all in June!
