A morning at Bickle-Schmidt 🐯

We celebrated the ribbon-cutting of the Bickle-Schmidt Athletic Complex and the continued investment in the future of Tiger Athletics.

Built for Tigers. Built for what’s next. 🖤💛

Even with the spring semester behind us, the brotherhood never slows down. Closing out the first week of summer at FHSU, brothers Caleb Chermok and Reese McClintock were enjoying a day out fishing at Big Creek when they unexpectedly ran into FHSU alumnus Zach Woolf — and ended up making the FHSU Alumni Instagram page.

Moments like these are a reminder that the connections built at Fort Hays last far beyond graduation. As summer continues, the brothers of ΣΑΕ Kansas Delta are taking time to recharge, reflect, and prepare for an even stronger fall semester ahead. The work never stops, and neither does the brotherhood.

Can’t put into words how much Hays America means to me. Forever thankful for the people it brought me and the memories I will carry with me forever because of this amazing place.

As this chapter ends countless others are waiting to be written and I can’t wait for what the good Lord above has in store.

And one final note… ROLL TIGES!! 🐅⚫️🟡

Last Friday, I had the honor to assist the Office of the President at the Alumni Awards and Recognition Banquet. I really resonated with and respect the stories from two award winners, Commander Benjamin Kelso and Dr. Mike Slattery.

Commander Kelso, now in San Diego, graduated with two Masters Degrees from FHSU and has more than 35 years of dedicated service. He, as well, was recognized as one of San Diego’s Top 50 Black Leaders of Influence. Commander Kelso was recognized with the Alumni Achievement Award.

Dr. Slattery was recognized with the Nita Landrum Award for his distinguished career in education and lasting legacy at FHSU. Dr. Slattery taught in the College of Education here at FHSU for 22 years. Indubitably, with his lengthy connections with the community, Mike’s commitment to education certainly does extend beyond the classroom.

I’d like to personally thank both Commander Kelso and Dr. Slattery for the opportunity to learn a little bit from them, even if for such a fleeting moment.
