THIS IS NOT A LOVE SONG
by @zasadada_ & @joshuasmits_

This is not a love song is an ode to the imagination. Two people, on a bed, cut off from the outside world. They want to be loved and to fall in love. To fulfil those desires, they seek connection with one another. They force each other into positions just to feel something. Something real. Something grand. Something compelling. What if the imagination knows no bounds? How real can it then become?

This is not a love song is a performance by Joshua Smits and Fiene Zasada, in collaboration with Luca Persan. For this performance, they drew on personal longings, their own perspectives on intimacy, and the yearning for love and friendship.

What a ride... Since january I was together with
De Roovers for the creation, production and tour of
Take care, Filoktetes. What an honor to work with such lovely and great theatermakers with more than 30 years of experience who has embraced me with love and compassion during the whole proces. They lifted me up and gave me space and carried me with care for the whole proces.... To have Fiene by my side in our team was such a great honor to feel her fresh and fragile power all in one, close to me. Fire of Sara kept me going, Sofie was like my caring mon while Luc watched over me and wanted to be sure I am ok and Robby was there always holding my back with each musical idea's. He played and sang along with me.
Stef touched my heart so deep with his wise soul, Bert with his smile and love made my dark days bright and Fee as my guardian Engel of beauty gave me sound. What an intens period of art and love as a balancing compass in such dark times for me....This production and this tour has happende in one of the most difficult and dark periods of my life.... Protest of people in Iran,
mass murder of my people in january, war and killings in february and storm of emotions and despair, sadness and grief, anger and relief, surrender and uprise.... and again bombs and lots of uncertainties.... What a stormy time!

I can just look back to a very difficult but a very precious period inwhich I could feel love and care from each one of the members of our team and we created together a magical production which touched many hearts and was loved by out audiance.
Where love flows, people feel it♡♡♡.
I am so proud of what we did together and that I could be a part of this beauty.

Today 9 en tomorrow 10 of june the last two performances in Monty in Antwerp. We are back in Antwerp where it all has started! The circle is round ♡.

See you in Monty or somewhere else where beauty flows.

There is always hope! Beauty is before your eyes when you are willing to see it.
