Real ROOP weddings ❤️

Ruby and Jake met when they were 11 in secondary school!! And have now been to together for 10 years✨ I asked Ruby to tell us all about the special touches that made their day unique to them.

Ruby wore our now sold out 🥲 white shaggy furoshiki bag to pair with her simple and elegant wedding dress 🤍I don’t know Ruby but the dress just looks like *her* I think sometimes - for any occasion not just weddings, we can get lost in trying to find something we think we should wear not what we want to wear, if you follow your gut and stay true to you, you’ll always look 10/10 ✨

Im also obsessed that there was another ROOP cameo from another sold out babe! Scroll to the end to see our gone but not forgotten, pistachio satin furoshiki bag 💚

If you’re feeling inspired, check out our beautiful bridal collection online. If you want something bespoke for your big day, we have a form on the website you can fill in or you can just send me an email to get started.

I asked Ruby what her best piece of advice is for anyone planning a wedding and she said… “Try not to get too caught up in all the little details when planning - no one notices on the day, so just have fun. Also don’t drink too much!” ❤️✨

ill in bed thinking about one of my fave shoots we’ve ever done ~ amazing what you can do with a sofa from Facebook marketplace, a cake & a dream !

down to the last few pieces of the Betsey sets on our website now <3

this shoot was inspired by Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette and cost about £150 to put together. We put the set together in my studio and I did the hair & make up myself. Sometimes the shoots with the lowest cost are the best ones 😛🎀

The Go-To is 1 💚🎁

12 whole months of memorable moments. Collaborating with over 65 incredible brands, dreamy destination shoots in St Tropez, Ibiza, London and LA, our gifts on famous faces (hi Bella Hadid) and hosting our very first event. From using friends as models to hand-delivering Christmas presents, it’s truly been an unforgettable year. We’ve loved gifting with you, one year down and lots more to go.

Hey there, it's Jemima a.k.a Mali Maki Home! I can’t believe its been seven months since my last post. So much has happened since then, including a new username (and surname 🥰)

In July, we welcomed our sweet girl, Ivy Matilda, into the world, and becoming a mother has been the most incredible, challenging, and fulfilling experience of my life. And if that wasn't enough excitement, three weeks later, Jay and I got married at Chelsea Town Hall. It was a spur of the moment decision to get married while my Mum was in London. We had an intimate ceremony with family and a few close friends, followed by dinner at The Orange. It was a whirlwind to plan the wedding in just two weeks while I was 38 weeks pregnant and we prayed Ivy would arrive on time (she was born on her due date! 🔮)

Looking back, it was probably a little crazy to plan a wedding so soon after having a baby, but I'm so glad we did it. It made decision-making so much easier, and I chose pieces I loved instead of worrying about what would be "timeless". Plus, who cares what will be in fashion in ten years anyway! (And let's be real, I've had a wedding Pinterest board since I was 18, so it was about time I put it to use!)

Shortly after, we made the big decision to leave London, sell all of our furniture and head back to my hometown of Melbourne. It's been a huge adjustment, but we know it's the best move for our little family

Of course, with big changes come big challenges - I found myself battling sickness and anxiety for a while. But now, I'm feeling much better and focusing on taking things a bit easier.

Finally, leaving London meant closing Mali Maki, as all of my suppliers were local. For now, I'm putting the business on hold and taking on freelance design and styling projects. I'll still be sharing lots of interior and DIY content as we have fun decorating our new home.

Thank you for sticking around and being part of my journey! 😘
