Day 20's theme is Highway Horror. I considered Duel, and Road Games from my home country, also Wolf Creek sprang to mind for its 3rd act... but then I remembered, I've never seen the original Hitcher movie. I did see the 2007 remake with Sean Bean in theatres and was underwhelmed, but this one actually kind of rules? Rutger Hauer's like The Joker in The Dark Knight (no surprises that Wikipedia says this was one of Nolan's fave movies as a teen), he isn't a character with an arc, or a motive, he just exists to make the life of C. Thomas Howell's character hell. Also, for the scene where a French fry is replaced with a finger, that's severed digit down, 5 pumpkins left, LET'S GOOOOO!!!!!

📚 Just sharing a couple of books we had gotten at @horridmag. Both books are from local Colorado authors. My wife and I are looking forward to reading them! 📚 ~ @fierypen

Day 10 of the #31DaysOfHorror bingo by @fierypen
Jeepers Creepers (white people shit)
The nerd from Galaxy Quest really wants to know what’s down that hole.

Don’t investigate the crazy road rage truck. Don’t look down the creepy hole. Don’t stop and stare at the creepy monster. So many annoying choices. The sister even points out what not to do in a horror movie. Cool soundtrack, though.

Day 9 (I think) of the #31DaysOfHorror bingo by @fierypen
Pumpkinhead (smashing pumpkins)

This was surprisingly good. This is a horror movie that deals with a real-world pain (grief). Who wouldn’t want to sic a monster on those who killed someone you love?

Missed a couple days due to an exhausting work event, but I’m picking up this challenge again to see what interesting stories are hidden in the horror genre for me to find.

Day 19 of the 31 Days Of Halloween Horror Challenge is themed Favourite Franchise, and since yesterday was Jason X, today had to be Saw X, the mirroring (ok, to be fair, i picked Saw X first then Jason, but still). All the other franchises have at least one entry that I hate, including Scream now (fuck you Scream 7, you know what you did), but oddly... not Saw. Even at its worst, I still love this series! Saw X is the best one so far, Amanda's haircut aside. Also, Billy is a Puppet, so that's Puppet down! We're so close to bingo! Just 6 to go.

Today's theme is Least Favourite Franchise. So first off, what's your least favourite horror series?
.
Mine might be a super unpopular opinon, but... of all the big horror franchises, Friday The 13th is my least favourite. I don't hate it by any stretch, I'm just not a big fan. Jason always struck me as a Michael Myers clone.
.
Anyways, I chose Jason X because i needed to knock off the Space pumpkin on the bingo card, but I also realised that Crystal Lake has been out for a few days, so i thought I'd start that as a bonus. (No spoilers please, I hope nothing bad happens to that kid Jason. 😝).

Is the end of another week, that means it's Horror Movie Night. Today's prompt is Death By Board Game so it's a Ouija Double Feature, kicking off with Mike Flanagan's excellent prequel Origin Of Evil, and then revisiting the first one that has a 6% on Rotten Tomatoes. I've never watched them in this order, let alone back to back, so I'm hoping that the prequel helps to improve the original, but we'll see. Also, Ouija boards feel like "white people shit" so that's another pumpkin down!

Today's theme, Rich People Doing Evil Shit. I also needed to knock off the subtitle pumpkin from the bingo card, and I've had Martyrs on bluray for a year and haven't gotten around to watching it, so this seemed like a triple win... Martyrs makes Grave Of The Fireflies look like a Disney film. 🙃 Fuck.

Today's 31 Day Halloween Horror Challenge theme was telekinesis. Originally i was going to use Carrie, the TV series, for it, but i kind of binged it last weekend, so i went looking for another and found The Fury, which was directed by the OG Carrie director Brian De Palma and had that movies Sue Snell Amy Irving in it, and...Carrie is the better film. Lol. I didn't hate this, but it's kind of a slog to get through for a small handful of setpieces... the final 30 seconds though, incredible. Absolute Cinema. And since Amy Irving goes into a private hospital in it, that's the hospital pumpkin down!
