In a powerful intersection of Philadelphia’s independent music lineage, melodic punk trio @film.phl have announced their debut album, Permanence, arriving 22 May via @laurenrecords The project features Ken Vasoli (The Starting Line, Vacationer), Joe Reinhart (Hop Along, Algernon Cadwallader), and the late, beloved drummer TJ DeBlois (Halfway to Holland, A Life Once Lost).

Alongside the announcement, the band has shared the lead single “Roundabout”, a raw, howling track that prioritises instinct over production. Recorded during the pandemic, the sessions were originally intended as demos but have taken on profound weight following DeBlois’ unexpected passing in 2023. The band chose to leave the recordings untouched, preserving them as a final, unfiltered document of DeBlois’ monumental drumming and their shared friendship.

With ‘Big Dreams, Mister’ out now via @laurenrecords and @specialistsubject, beloved Midwest trio @wearegoodluck walk us through the new record track by track—from baritone ukuleles and stormy tour stories to songs that started as solo demos and ended up sounding exactly right. It’s a warm, thoughtful guide to one of the year’s most quietly special albums.

It’s been a little more than a week since the release of ‘Morbid Little Thing’ and I’ve been overwhelmed by the warm, positive response it’s gotten. To anyone who took the time to listen, buy a record or just spread the word about this project, thank you. This record would not have been possible without my team of incredibly talented friends supporting and helping me along the way. @henry_chadwick_music @dylan_the_bucko @lucyramone @districtrecording @lizzietrouble @fiftycc_pr @noearbuds @mikeparkmusic @simcastro2 @nickoconnorb3 @wolfmanjaake @scottallencello. Truthfully, I didn’t take a ton of photos during the tracking of this record cuz I was having too much fun! but enjoy these little snippets of how we got here. Thank you for listening to ‘Morbid Little Thing’. Can’t wait to show you what else we have in store 🖤🦇🩸

this friday, our boy @bones_shredder drops his debut LP, Morbid Little Thing. 💀✨

The name may scream horror movie but the music is pure, hooky power-pop. In his new interview with @newnoisemagazine, Randy Moore talks about making a record that’s unapologetically his own after years of playing in everyone else’s bands. 🖤🖤🖤
