FIJI, Hanover College

Phi Gamma Delta, otherwise known as FIJI, was the second fraternity to be founded on Hanover’s campus on February 5th, 1863. They were founded with help from the Lambda Chapter of FIJI, at DePauw University. The Tau Chapter is the 9th oldest active chapter of FIJI. The fraternity has remained a significant part of campus life for over 160 years. Their annual FIJI Island party has remained a key part of spring term, continuing on for decades. Many of their alumni have gone on to be faculty members of the school. Their most notable alumni is former vice president, Mike Pence.
