skeleton bones by @milasiphone

for the past year I’ve been working as creative director for a new artist @milasiphone <3 yesterday marks her first release & I couldn’t be prouder. when I first heard her music it truly moved me, I spent hours walking through the city & along coastlines with it on repeat, seeing where it wanted to live…the more I listened, the more the world appeared.

what started as curiosity turned into a 100+ page creative deck, countless zoom calls with mila & a full visual universe.

first up is skeleton bones ~ a song that really sank into my heart whilst on a tram which resulted in me jotting down all my thoughts, ideas & emotions into my journal.

we filmed this one in melb/naarm with some of my favourite creatives & humans. a big thanks to everyone involved, from crew to talent & artist mgmt!

skeleton bones is about being raw, bold & beautifully real. mila is everyone. she’s you, she’s me, she’s the person you passed on the street this morning. she is the now.

a very special thank you to @milasiphone for having me onboard to create, dream & build this world together.
an extended thanks to her mgmt team for having me! happy first release!!!

this process showed me that I’d been holding a fixed idea of what creativity looked like for me. I’d quietly put parameters around myself with the label of “choreographer/movement director,” when in truth, I just love ideas, creativity & the process of bringing them to life. this reminded me that creativity is creativity, not just dance…and I’m excited to keep exploring that wherever it leads.

And just like that our album is a year old??? ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 THANK YOU FOR LISTENING AND BEING HERE WITH US!!

Limb Pulled Taut was such a whirlwind of collaboration with very special friends. Love love loved it. Please enjoy this mishmash of photos to celebrate it, including:
*Jordan’s sexi pool photoshoot with the vinyl
*Rob looking like Rob in his stooood
*the creative process including a very convoluted diagram of how we should order the song depending on emotion (this method was immediately vetoed)
*dancy moments shot by by @filmgherk & @m.ridley_ and cute shots from the release show by @gearingandy

We still have some lovely lookin’ vinyl left, let us know if you’d like to snatch one up (especially in the Melb area we will drop it off to you personally!!) xx
