Considering how long it took me just to pitch my ideas, the support I’ve received since publishing my first article has been overwhelming (in the best way). Thank you—truly. You’d think the hardest part was behind me, but if I’m being honest, self-promotion and the fear of rejection are proving to be WAY more challenging. I’m beyond grateful to @ontheflymagazine for not only giving me the opportunity to share my words, but for actually liking it enough to invite me back as a regular contributor. They even featured @wadingwithwhitney on the cover! Such an incredible shot by @leaky_waderz, how could they not!?!? Assuming this symbiotic relationship continues, if you’d like to enjoy one of the most beautifully done magazines out there, use code (NMCGEE) at checkout for 10% off!!! Here’s to doing scary things, one word at a time and all the support it takes to follow through! Speaking of: one last shout out to @hollyjonesfishing for helping me make this reel. I literally couldn’t have done it without your help!!!! #flyfishing #author #holycrapididit #ontheflymagazine #covermodel

Fisher Art Market began organically with local artists gathering at Fisher Brewing before and after events, sharing stories and connecting over creativity. Inspired by this, Fisher Brewing invited artists to host a market at their venue in SLC, Utah. We’re honored to be the 2025 nonprofit partner for Fisher Art Market. At S.T.A.Y. – Somebody’s Thinking About You, we remind people they’re not alone, that its okay to not be okay, that we can learn to ask for help, and that help is out there. This market is a powerful reflection of community, creativity, and care—all values we hold close. We’re excited to share space, spark conversations, and spread hope—because sometimes, knowing somebody’s thinking about you can make all the difference. Join Us Every 2nd Wednesday 🗓️ April – September ⏰ 6:00 – 9:00 PM 📍 Fisher Brewing Company ☔ Rain or shine (or snow!) April 9th Market lineup: @akashaleather @annagraceceramics @chrystal.dawn.art @blubclubkoozies @bonbonblacksheep @caj_lux @chelbieglassworks @dakatta.jewelry @dragonfly.creations.art @fin_neato @hand_drawn_photobooth @katrinaperkinsdesign @linzharline @middleofsomewear @pepperalice.design @roxval.soap @smarthomecanning @theculturedcrumb @_thetrashpile @kthomasprinters

I’ve had quite a few new followers lately so I wanted to introduce myself. I’m Jeremy, a woodworker on the weekends, who mostly makes sexy trinket/jewelry boxes under the name Jers drawers. 🤭 I made my first box almost 20 years ago. My dad had made a few, and I was blown away. He taught me the basics, and it’s been a learning process ever since. The first box was for my mom on Mother’s Day. It was so exciting giving away something I hand made. While there’s been several gaps of inactivity in those 20 years, about a year ago I got back into it. I have so many ideas and things I want to make, I’m excited to build and share them with y’all. I get my inspiration from reclaimed wood, or pieces that others have discarded as unusable. Dumpster diving is a sport. I have always given my boxes away to friends, and family as gifts as I enjoy seeing the excitement they get from them. But nowadays I’m trying to branch out a bit, and sell them at art shows. I did my first show last year at Hopkins brewery, and it was a great success. I ended up selling 14 out of 19 boxes. My next show will hopefully be in the summertime. Although I’ve been turned down by a few places, there’s still plenty I can apply for. I’ve also teamed up with a great company to be apart of a silent auction at the end of April. I’ve donated a box and the money will be donated to a great cause. Stay tuned here for more details. If you’d like, one of the biggest ways you can help me as an artist is to like or share a post. I’ve been turned down by some venues because my profile isn’t very business like. Which is fine. I didn’t have many followers not too long ago, and my posts don’t get much engagement, and that’s my fault. I just do woodworking part time, and I want it to be fun for me, without the stressors of worrying about timelines, and the next sale, and fancy posts etc. This is my personal profile that’s filled with all kinds of punk rock nonsense, and shenanigans. But it’s me, and that’s the way I like it. Anyways, firm handshakes everyone. Welcome to the fold. DM me if you have questions, wood hookups, or art show recommendations! #woodworking #jersdrawers

We are so stoked to welcome back @fin_neato to our April 9th market! “I have been painting funky fish since 2023 but obsessed with fishing long before. I blame my obsession with fishing on my fanatical fisherman father, that’s why my business is named after him: Fin-Neato. I was inspired from the ‘finito’ Italian word since my dad loved his Italian heritage. I spent my undergraduate years in Missoula, Montana where I realized the beauty of the West. Then I discovered so many incredible places that happen to have really good fishing spots too. I guess stumbling upon a painting passion was bound to happen. Luckily, I have thousands of fish images burned into my brain to spark the next painting.”
