🚨MIGRATION STATION 2.0

Migration Station is proud to announce that we’ve officially launched what we’re calling “Migration Station 2.0”—an entirely new suite of visualizations, content, data insights and user interfaces.

View the migration nation-wide via our migration map.

Get regional overviews, where reports are mapped alongside waterbodies and public lands.

Read summarized reports of what’s new and what’s happening in your area.

Understand the migratory trends for the season, and how it compares to seasons past.

Save regions, so you can quickly access the information you most care about.

And my personal favorite, analyze regional insights for band recoveries—what species is most recovered, where do they come from, and how have trends shifted over time.

And we have even more in the works….

So be sure to check it out, and thank you for being a part of this journey with us. We hope you enjoy Migration Station’s newest content as much as we do.

Happy National Daughter Day!

I’m beyond humbled to watch this video of my daughter and I. As she grows up, I hope she knows that she can walk up to any stage with confidence as I do now.

@jenniferrichardrealtor and I are beyond blessed to be able to make memories like this with friends like @petty_charles

Fun fact: Seventeen years ago, I was seventeen, I flew into Memphis from Louisiana to meet up with Buck Gardner and he sent me north to Union City, TN with @slaytongearin in his Ford Excursion to blow in one of my first calling contests in this same exact parking lot at @finalflightoutfitters. It was the first and only time I called against @jimronquest …. He won, I learned that I didn’t like that. 🤣

Life is fast. Have fun.

Show me your friends, I’ll show you your future!

🚨TEAL IN TEXAS (…and Louisiana)

With what is likely our last update of the season, we had just shy of 100 reports this past week, with the majority of them coming from the Gulf Coast region and along the Mississippi River and its tributaries.

Speaking of the Gulf Coast region, Texas and Louisiana were red hot the past week, with about one fourth of the reports coming from these two states and the reports consistently indicating good numbers.

Coastal regions aside, reports out of the Mississippi Flyway indicated fair concentrations along the Mississippi River between northwest Mississippi and southeast Missouri, while reports out of the Central Flyway indicated the teal have moved along.

In the Atlantic Flyway, reports were much more sparse this week compared to last, but there was a noteworthy concentration of reports out of central Florida.

This likely marks the last of our teal reporting for the year. Thank you for following along, and a big thanks to all those who helped us track the migration!

Our migration map will go live in mid-October. Stay tuned, BIG things ahead.

Another competition in the books! 🦆

One thing I’ve really grown to love about all of this is that there’s always something to take away from it. Whether it’s a day of practice or a competition, there’s always something new to learn and something to keep working toward. And somewhere in between all the practices, competitions, road trips, good runs and not-so-good ones, I’ve found some pretty dang good people to do it all with. The encouragement, support, and friendships that feel like family that have come from this have meant more to me than I probably ever say.

Still learning, still growing, and really dang blessed to live this life!!!

🚨 TEAL ARE ON THE MOVE

Another sharp increase in reporting this week, with good news finally hitting the feed.

This week, we aggregated over 100 reports from across the country, with strong reporting from the Mississippi Flyway and Central Flyway and even a handful of reports from the Atlantic Flyway out east.

When comparing this week’s reports to last, it appears a push occurred in the Mississippi Flyway. Reports out of Illinois and Indiana indicate decreasing teal counts, while further south along the Mississippi River counts increased in regions like southeast Missouri, western Tennessee, and the Mississippi Delta.

In the Central Flyway, eastern Nebraska and northeast Kansas reported fair counts, but by far and away the largest concentration of above-average-to-excellent reports came from along the Red River in north Texas.

Much to our surprise, there was an influx of reports from the Atlantic Flyway this week, with reports out of Georgia (yes... we double checked…Georgia) and Florida both indicating respectable populations.

Teal season may be winding down, but our efforts aren’t. We’d love to hear from you. Help us track the migration through your area by submitting your teal observation today!

Kicked off hunting season with the girls & our @finalflightoutfitters hunt club in the dove field.

From our @roughcountry Jeep Gladiator wrapped in @mossyoak Original Bottomland to the new RC OG Bottomland hats, good food, football games, & time with great people - it was a special weekend. The best part was watching Lucy & River experience it all & loving every bit of it.

I hope the outdoors always feels like home to them, just like it does to so many of us, & that their experiences in God’s wild creation has lasting impact on what they do & who they become.
