Amazing day spent rappelling in one of Lebanon’s hidden gems, Fouar Dara in Majdel Tarchich 🇱🇧

Adrenaline, fresh air, and insane spring colors all around 🎨

📍 Fouar Dara
Hidden in the mountains of the Metn district, this site holds centuries of agricultural heritage. The word “Fouar” refers to natural basins carved by water, and Dara is known for its springs that once irrigated the whole valley below.

🌿 A green oasis between ancient rocks.
You start the rappel surrounded by vertical cliffs, but as you descend, your eyes lock on the colorful terraces of Majdel Tarchich, wild herbs, wheat, flowers, and endless shades of green stretching to the horizon. It’s like being lowered into a painting.

🪢 Strong anchors
We rigged a redundant anchor using the bolts on a natural rock. Full Petzl setup, harness, helmet, descenders, and gloves. The length of the rappel was 30 meters of pure vertical drop, smooth and secure all the way down.

🧗🏻‍♀️ This isn’t just a sport
Hanging off a cliff makes everything else disappear. You’re fully present, fully alive. If you’ve never tried it, Fouar Dara is a perfect starting point.
