✨ TABLE LEADER SPOTLIGHT ✨

Meet Ashley Gonzales! Wife to Jared and mom to seven kiddos ranging in age from 3 months to 9 years old! Here’s what she shared with us about how March’s event encouraged her:

“Joy’s reminder that technology can be a good thing for your family was a timely and encouraging one! It’s natural for me to just want to say ‘no no no’ to all things screen related so that my kids don’t get addicted, but I loved her reminder that a shared playlist, playing a game together as a family, and a fun video recording can actually bring everyone together.”

This little man received so much love for World Down Syndrome Day today! 💙💛

Even though I didn’t make my soccer game tonight because we were out celebrating, my team decided to wear mismatched socks to show their support for Mr. Jett 😭.🧦 Thanks to all our family and friends who sent us pics of their socks today! (See the last pic if you have absolutely no idea why I keep talking about socks). #worlddownsyndromeday

MEET THIS YEARS TABLE LEADERS ✨

Meet @findingjoyinrain (Ashley Gonzales)
Married to Jared
6 kiddos — ages from 8months-7 years

Here were her takeaways from this last months NEST gathering:

“We took a moment to remember that in the midst of a conversation about siblings, there may be moms in the group whose families don’t quite look like they imagined they would at this time. Maybe timing has not played out the way the imagined, maybe infertility has played a role, or maybe they have experienced loss. But we see them, and God sees them and he is with all of these mommas in their hardships.

It was sweet to hear mommas talk about ways that their parents modeled Jesus to them and their siblings, and ways that they hoped they could make a change for the family they were raising.

One mom shared her dad’s legacy of prayer. She would hear him early mornings in the living room and run out to him only to find him on his knees praying. His legacy has carried on and now she has also embraced early mornings on her knees praying for her family.

Another momma talked about praying our loud for her kids, and how now she finds her children praying out loud for each other.”

MAY IS FOSTER CARE AWARENESS MONTH!!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The experiences that bring families to foster care vary from family to family. Back in February @drivethrumoms podcast talked with one of the strongest young woman I know, who is on mission! From organ donation, to foster care to adoption, this nurse has a heart of gold, but one that is focused on Christ's call for her and her family.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Listen to Ashley's story ( @findingjoyinrain ) from Episode 17 and her life spent living and loving like Jesus. #linkinbio⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Giving kids a boost to hope through the lens of God's love for the fatherless is what adoption is about. Thanks Ashley and Jared for your surrender.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

What do organ donation, foster care and adoption all have in common? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This mom! Ashley Gonzales is an ER nurse and a mother of four and a foster mom, with a distinct gifting to serve, give and help others however she can. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When our family's path crossed with Ashley's family many moons ago, I never expected how God would do it again years later...in a whole different place!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
He's cool like that! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ashley’s story is inspirational, encouraging, motivating and shows how we can help those around us in need, if we open our hearts to what God might bring our way. I can’t wait for you to hear how she gave of herself (quite literally) to a stranger and strives to serve God every day with her job, family and people she meets along the way.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
ENJOY and HAPPY WEDNESDAY!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

"We visited with the kids’ bio grandma this weekend. The first time we did it. I was anxious, slightly dreading it, and worried it would reopen trauma for the kids. But mostly, I was just selfishly worried it would make me somehow feel less like their mother. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
This time, I felt at peace, happy the kids were happy, and we had a really nice time. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I know how deeply blood runs. I know that regardless of how hard I love them, there are some voids I can never fill. I know that connection to their first family is so so important. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
But that doesn’t make it easy. That doesn’t mean that this mama is good at it. That doesn’t mean my worries go away. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
So I’m just over thankful for how loved my babies are."
