And that’s a wrap on “Chess”! I was finally there when @aarontveit came out but I was too short to see him. Typical. His Freddie has been everything to me and I miss him already. This is the first musical I have truly loved and seen more than once on purpose (ten times!) and one that made me miss acting enough to start classes again. It also inspired me to learn chess and I’m still bad at it but I can play? And got me obsessed with reading about real chess players. And I started writing again. And it was cathartic to see a bipolar character be messy and destructive but also deeply human and I can’t say enough good things about this production. Will be missed, glad it found me!
