How do I say goodbye to a group of girls who made this year so easy. How do I put into words how special this year was & how they made each day enjoyable. They grind, they make each other better, they want to be in the gym. You don’t get that often from all 10 players.

76-5. 76 wins and only 5 losses. When I think about that I am still blown away. The record is not what I’ll remember though. I’ll remember the laughs, the enjoyable moments that made coming into the gym every day worth it.

This is a special group. Not because of me and how I coach, but because of the standard they all hold each other at. They were a great team before me and they will be a great team (& players) after me. Luckily for me it was just my time to have them. They will never truly understand what they did for me this year. Coaching is a lot. I know all my fellow coaches understand the toll it takes on your daily life. The stress, the worry, the pressure. But that is why I love it. That is why this group made every moment worth it.

A 5th place finish at nationals in the 16 open division is something to be so proud of. I had to remind not only myself about that but also the girls. They wanted more, they wanted the podium and to have a shot at a national title. I wanted that for them with every fiber of my being, and I truly thought we could do it. We fell a little short and that’s ok. It doesn’t dismiss what they did the year and it doesn’t make me any less proud of them. I truly have never been so emotional after a loss. I didn’t want this season to end but I’m happy for the time I got with them.

This group will forever hold a special place in my heart. 16 Purple Reign, I’ll love you forever. 💜
