Cruising Through the Kelp

Kelp forests are some of my favourite places to dive. They are almost magical in my eyes. Life is everywhere you look. Anemones and juvenile rockfish thrive in these underwater forests. I could spend all day just watching the kelp blades ripple in the currents.

The March of a Giant

Having the chance to film these massive octopus out in the open, always leaves me awestruck. Rolling their long legs across the sand and gliding their heavy bodies along ocean floor - making it seem almost effortless.

Giant Pacific Octopus in the shallows!

What’s started out as a chill solo dive at Madrona, turned into one of my favourite octo encounters to date. 2 minutes after descending into the water and turning to head to the deep wall, I spotted a large Giant Pacific Octopus in the open.

My mind was blown as it let me follow it on the hunt. Keeping my @finmos_tech T16 scooter at the ready, I was able to keep up and even do a couple orbits around this large octopus.

Amazing visibility and an incredible octo encounter makes me a happy guy! 🐙🐙🐙
