“When me and David first spoke we talked how we might try to encapsulate Carters brand in ways that considered the texture of the images as well as their story. The pairing of a 16mm lens with Alexa Mini in S16 crop mode was great because it gave us both the modern elements of the digital sensor working alongside this old nostalgic 16mm workhorse. And that felt close to what is so interesting about Carter clothes. The Americana aspect plays into most of the designs but they are not stuck in a vacuum. It’s the subtle rethinking of a stitched pattern that reinvents a classic into something quite modern. Where to start on the zoom range… The most perfect range I could ever imagine existing” @finnboxer on his recent film ‘After Midnight’ for Carter Young x Liberty London. Shot on our Canon 11.5-165 S16 Zoom, this film does an incredible job of showcasing this lens’ unique optical characteristics and massive zoom range. If you haven’t worked with this lens yet you’re in for a treat - swing by Junction and have a test, it’s a lot of lens in a small package!
