One of the best ways to survive the school year? Building community !!!

As Advisory Coordinator, I wanted to combine my love of sports, teamwork, and a little friendly competition into our school culture. What started as an idea became one of our students’ favorite traditions: Crew Olympics.

Six crews. One trophy. Lots of laughs, teamwork, school pride, and memories. But the best part isn’t winning. It’s watching students find their place, cheer each other on, and realize they’re part of something bigger than themselves. Because every student deserves a team. ❤️

It’s finally June… one month before the school year officially ends, and I want to take y’all along as I recap moments, events, laughs, struggles, and the reality of being a NYC middle school teacher.
