Prime West Stop #1 delivered at the Lane. 🌊 The West Coast’s next generation took over iconic Steamer Lane today, and the groms wasted no time putting clean, glassy, rippable walls to work. Carves were hacked, sections were sent, airs were thrown, dreams were crushed — and a few came very much alive. There was plenty of heat-by-heat pressure, plenty of progression, and no shortage of reminders that the future of American surfing is already here. Swipe through some of the day’s best action, then stay tuned for Day 2 tomorrow as the women and the Boys Under 14 hit the water, and the stakes get even higher. Keep an eye on these names. Everything on this list is within half an hour of a Sessions. That wasn't on purpose, but I'll take it. We mapped out where we'd be, and which shop to hit on the way. SUN SOAKED Huntington State Beach, Sat Sep 12 Noon to 9pm, 18+, VIP already gone. Going or not, that whole stretch of sand is going to be loud and good all day. Closest shop: Huntington Beach OKTOBERFEST KICKOFF Old World Huntington Beach, opens Sat Sep 12 They've been running this since 1977. Wednesday through Sunday from here into November. Closest shop: Huntington Beach SEGERSTROM CENTER 40TH Costa Mesa, Sun Sep 13 at 2pm Free, campus-wide, 40 years of the place. Easy walk over after lunch. Closest shop: South Coast Plaza FIESTA LATINA Great Park, Irvine, Sun Sep 13, 11am to 4pm Free and all ages. Music, food, art, and room for kids to run. Closest shop: Woodbridge FIESTAS PATRIAS Downtown Santa Ana, Sat and Sun Sep 12 and 13 Parade, street fair, carnival rides. Free, and it runs late both nights. Closest shop: South Coast Plaza APRÈS CHURCH BRUNCH All six shops, Sat and Sun, 10am to 2pm Before any of it. Or instead of all of it. Save this one and tag who you're dragging along.
