(Haboolm Ksinaalgat) SOUL CATCHER.

Sneak peek 👀 at our new Ts’msyen stop motion animation that’s about to be born. 💕

The legendary Tantoo Cardinal @tantoo.cardinal stars as Gyilak’yoo (Robin) - a supernatural being & ancient Ts’msyen swansgm halaayt (blowing shaman). She is a matriarch and chief, who has become a halaayt (ha-LIGHT) through transcending great trials and difficulties. She has learned to achieve higher states of consciousness and travel to non-human dimensions, where she retrieves the lost souls of the suffering ones and blows them back into the sick using her haboolm ksinaalgat (soul catcher) amulet.

For nearly 4 years, we have been quietly and carefully developing a really personal and special story, one that we have been so deeply honoured to be trusted with and invited into the process. Based on a masterful and personal story by Ts’msyen storyteller Pamela Post @pamelapostmedia . We are guided by her community and honoured to have the Ts’msyen talents of Phil Gray @phil_gray_art guiding us along with culture and language guidance from Sm Łoodm ‘Nüüsm, Dr. Mique’l Dangeli @miqueldangeli & other Ts’msyen mentors & artists.

A dream team of collaborators, creators and those who care so much to tell stories ethically and push for cinematic excellence in animation. @patrickzung @norrogers and Standing Figure @standing.figure you have once again created authentic magic. Powerful Art Direction by Lia Fabre Dimsdale.

Based on a true story, (Haboolm Ksinaalgat) Soul Catcher is the story of Lu’oo’ya (Echo), a gender fluid Ts’msyen youth and reluctant apprentice to the ancient female Halaayt (Shaman), named Gyilak’yoo (Robin). Along with Gaax the Raven, the trio go on a time-and-shape-shifting supernatural mission to reclaim the powers of the Shaman’s stolen Soul Catcher amulet and rescue a pts’aan (totem pole) from the bottom of the Ksyen (Skeena River) where it has been sleeping for over a century

Keep your head down, away from the fluff and do the good work. That is all we can do. <3 Wayi Wah! (Let’s do this!). #stopmotion #stopmotionanimation #soulcatcher #wayiwah #ts’msyen #pamelapost #puppets #tantoo #gyilak’yoo

@circuit_wave just released a very cool track featuring a poem of mine.

Circuit Wave’s tracks are short electronic vibes designed to be played on repeat. I wrote the poem for this collaboration as a cyclical piece, so the ending prefaces the beginning.

Pop this starburst into your headphones and hit the repeat button (it’ll look like the image in the top left of the artwork I posted).

Thanks for the opportunity and inspiration Caleb! And I hope this brings you all as much joy as it does me.
