🌎Dan Brady / Fleming International Coach! We are so fortunate to have some of the leading advocates of this sport as a part of our extended team! Creating and fostering an international mentorship initiative for our members was a key goal in the development of our Team.

We aspired through mentorship to encourage the next generation of firefighters/ competitors to take their training and wellness knowledge to a new level by matching them with individuals who not only are National and World Champions.. but most importantly are truly passionate about first responder health and fitness.

Dan Brady of New Zealand has been one of the most inspiring role models for our pre-service firefighters for three years. His dedication to his own training and career is only riveled by his advocacy and encouragement of those around him. Dan’s willingness to share his experience and skills has made a profound impact on those lucky enough to call him a coach, friend or teammate. Through his own actions and kindness he has instilled the value of hardwork, determination and self-belief in our students.

A multi National Champion and World Medalist we cannot wait to cheer him on as he takes on the 2026 Firefighter Challenge World Championships in Las Vegas Oct 19-24… we wish him much success and a fantastic week! Good luck Team New Zealand! 🇳🇿 We will be cheering from Canada! Thank you Dan for your long-time support of our team! 🙌🏻. Be sure to follow @teamnz_firefighterchallenge to watch the kiwis on the big stage 🔥

"Courage is knowing it's going to be uncomfortable and going and doing it anyway."

Sometimes courage is not about feeling ready or fearless. It is about recognising the discomfort, accepting it, and choosing to move forward anyway.
A powerful reminder from Dan Brady that growth often begins outside your comfort zone.

Great culture does not happen by accident. It is built intentionally.

For Dan Brady, leadership is about bringing the right people together, building relationships, setting goals, and creating an environment where people can grow together.

"Culture will destroy talent any day of the week."

From growing the club to more than 450 members to developing Auckland and national champions and New Zealand representatives, Dan shares why strong culture has been at the heart of that growth.

Courage is not the absence of discomfort. It is knowing something will be uncomfortable and choosing to step into it anyway.

For Dan Brady, courage means understanding the risk, facing the discomfort, and still moving forward.

"Get comfortable being uncomfortable."

"I wasted far too much of the good years."

For Dan Brady, that realisation became a reason to stop wasting time, build discipline, and surround himself with people who hold him accountable.

"Give them the support they NEED, not what they WANT"

The people you spend the most time with can either push you toward your goals or pull you away from them. Sometimes the most courageous decision is choosing a different path.

Dan Brady's episode is coming soon.
