Creation of works. In the past few weeks we have been indulged in creation of artworks under our (@akan___13 , @afro_muru , @rawdneyk ) Collaborative Project together with some participants from the previous workshops.

It has been quite intriguing and quite interesting experimenting and seeing the processes and outcomes of some materials and pieces while we continue to explore material, techniques as we near finalization of this creation stage. The goal of the project is to highlight influence of cultural modernity on cultural heritage protection looking at how modern art practices can be a vehicle of influence to heritage protection, our case study being Karamoja.

We can’t wait to share with you the outcomes of the artworks as we pose more questions through the art to the general audience who will get to view them in an upcoming pop-up Exhibition happening at Studio soon.

Thanks to the support from @braidfund , @ticah.ke , @eastafricaarts

Happy Independence Day Uganda 🇺🇬

Take off time and #ExploreUganda as we celebrate 61years of Independence.

Yesterday as part of our activities for the #HeritageSeminar themed “Journey Back Home” held last weekend by the #LeONetwork, put together by @leoafricainst and Konrad Adeneur Stiftung Uganda and South Sudan and hosted by one of the #Yelpfellows @ahimbisibweprosper and our Institute Founder @_uwihanganye in Kanungu-Western Uganda, the Yelp and #HudumaFellows among other activities went #Gorillatrekking at #bwindiimpenetrableforestnationalpark one of the national parks known for its Gorillas.

Enjoy the highlight reel showing how my group visited the 30year old Muyambi (Helper) a Male Silverback gorrilla with his family inside the forest.

Uganda is home to approximately half of the worlds remaining mountain gorilla population with Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park being primary habitats for these amazing creatures.

We have introduced something new Called #OpenStudioSoundbites. These are unique audio captures recorded during our Open Studio events capturing ambient sounds, creative conversations, and artistic energy that fills up the space.

They offer a glimpse into the artistic process, allowing you to experience the atmosphere and creativity of the studio even outside the physical space.

Stay tuned for these💫🤗
