POV: You start selling Apple Fries at the Minnesota State Fair and somehow go through THOUSANDS OF POUNDS OF APPLES. 🍎😳

The apple math is getting out of hand. 😂 Thankfully Fireside Orchard in Northfield kept our supply of SweeTango apples coming! 👌🏻 We will be in Northfield at Fireside Orchard & Gardens October 10th, 11th, 15th, 16th, 17th & 18th selling apple fries and other delicious foods from our Brat Dog trailer!

🍏🍎🍟 Apple fries turned out to be the Splett family’s ticket to the State Fair. Minnesota’s Original Apple Fries was among the top-grossing new food vendors of the 2026 fair, according to early reports from the organization (sales figures are still being audited).

Now, at stadium gigs, customers are seeking out the Brat Dogs stand just to buy apple fries, tracking it down even when its location was initially listed incorrectly.

Which MN Orchard Apples should you get (other than HoneyCrisp)? Not sure.
Here’s the start of our new series ORCHARD APPLES SMACKDOWN where we scientifically, and thoroughly, analyze the properties, characteristics, flavor notes, and uses of Minnesota’s Favorite Fruit… but… in our own way 🍎 😂

It feels like fall outside today and with the change of seasons approaching, it’s the perfect time to stop in and buy some Minnesota Grown Apples and Abdallah Caramel Dip!

Freshly picked from Fireside Orchard & Gardens and Untiedt's, Honeycrisp apples are the gold standard for Minnesota Grown Apples and this crop is no different. Crunchy and sweet-tart, grown with Minnesota Pride, these taste distinctly like fall. We also have half gallons of Pepin Heights Apple Cider, perfect for a chilly fall day!

🍎🍂 Apple season is coming in hot and there are plenty of orchards in Minnesota worthy of a full fall day, complete with apple picking, pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and cider donuts. Here are a few of our editors’ favorites around the Twin Cities metro area, and see the full guide with addresses at the link in our bio!
