Huge congratulations to @eastonlongmont and @eastonboulder cat, Lutreo Ritter for winning bronze at @ibjjf Kids Pan No Gi 🙌👏

At just 13 years old, Lutreo competed as an orange belt in the Teen 1 Medium Heavy division and brought home some hardware! 🔥

And his dedication doesn’t stop at competition. When he’s not in school or training, Lutreo makes time to give back to his community by helping coach our Little Tigers classes at @eastonlongmont. He’s already setting a great example for the next generation of young grapplers, both on and off the mats.

Fall Farm Dinner recap, part 2. We were treated to a surprise guest visit during dinner of a couple of pigs, as well as the ducks. The silent auction table was filled with handmade treasures. And our stellar crew of teens ran the show, setup, serving and cleanup. This was all for them. #farmdinner #kunekune #farmfresh

Finished form, then moving backwards to the starting piece. @laughingcoyoteproject dropped of some Italian flint they acquired during a recent trip to Italy. Super buttery and fun to work material. The different colors were universal in composition and the piece had very little flaws. Not sure what this material is called, but I’ll take it anytime. Thanks @laughingcoyoteproject and @firewillowfarm

The results…a small bush knife ready to go to work. Remember…tools not trophies!!!

It all started with food. Before we had ever heard the term “primitive skills”, we wanted to connect to the land through food. Inspired by the burgeoning local food movement, we planted a garden and learned to forage. Sourcing our nourishment from the land remains a key ingredient in the Laughing Coyote vision. Milk cows manage the land, programs feast on vegetables from the garden, and the local community enjoys milk and eggs. Food from the farm still is core to our experience, whether at the Origin Skills Gathering or Teen Expeditions. Here Gelsey explains the instructor lunch at the @origin.skills gathering, beautifully captured by @willstorie.media . #localfood #homesteadlife #regenerativeagriculture #cucinaitaliana

Cane Blowpipe. Super fun, easy to do with a few stone flakes and the rest of the day is spent hunting mandarin oranges. #survival #bushcraft #primitiveskills #minimalism #survivalcraft

Thanks @firewillowfarm for letting my craft on the farm.

If you ever get the chance to attend an @origin.skills gathering with @laughingcoyoteproject, do it. You’ll meet some incredibly passionate and talented individuals who love to share their crafts. This was a video-heavy project for me, and I’m ecstatic to showcase what I’ve been working on. You’ll just have to settle for these stills for now.

Farm Dinner October 3. We are so excited to invite you to join us for a beautiful farm dinner. We have been growing beautiful food all summer to share, all prepared by the remarkable @albertosabbadini featuring produce from our farm as well as other local farmers. This event is a fundraiser to launch our new Teen Leadership Program, an immersive experience to nurture the next generation of earth skills leaders. We will have a silent auction, with incredible experiences as well as handcrafted goods by skilled artisans, such as @firewillowfarm @donnydust @ritterforge @thealelepottery and more. We hope you can join us. #farmdinner #teenleadership #earthskills #regenerativeagriculture

Solid sunshine. Grass is the best food you can’t eat. We spend the green months moving the cows over the land, taking the energy of the sun from plants and transforming it into creamy milk and golden butter. Each year the pasture is more lush, the trees provide shade and food, and the animals live fully in the richness of their surroundings. All winter we treasure the the sunshine bottled up in jars of ghee, remembering the gifts of summer. #regenerativeagriculture #familycow #homestead #grassfed

Unreal lighting conditions to kick off the morning at @firewillowfarm / @laughingcoyoteproject. I am SO stoked for this change of pace and working on some more deliberate and creative storytelling. This is just a taste of what’s to come 😎

Working with the land. We impact the land. As living beings, there is no way to avoid this. So the question becomes, how? One of the ideas we picked up from our friends out at @boulderoutdoorsurvivalschool is “positive impact”. Can we move on the land in a way that supports resilience and diversity of life. As we work the land at @firewillowfarm , this is always the goal. As we harvest materials, can we look to the future. #landtending #wildcraft #rewild #regenerativeagriculture
