🟫⬛️ 1st Annual Set The Edge Lineman Summit ⬛️🟫

The trenches finally got something built FOR THEM.

The 1st Annual Set The Edge Lineman Summit was created to celebrate, educate, and develop the next generation of Offensive & Defensive Linemen. This event is bigger than football it’s about culture, brotherhood, leadership, confidence, discipline, and giving the “big skill” athletes a space where they are valued and understood. Thanks goes out to Taj Washington of @uncommonbreedathletics for hosting the event.

💪🏾 PURPOSE:
To create a positive environment that supports the physical, mental, and personal development of Offensive & Defensive Linemen while connecting athletes with coaches, mentors, and former players who understand the grind of trench play.

🎯 GOALS:
• Promote OL/DL culture in a positive way
• Develop football IQ, leadership, and confidence
• Teach proper movement, mobility, recovery, and technique
• Encourage accountability, discipline, and brotherhood
• Build relationships between younger athletes and experienced mentors
• Create exposure and opportunities for linemen in the region
• Reinforce that linemen are more than just size — they are thinkers, leaders, and tone-setters

🔥 WHY THIS EVENT MATTERS:
Lineman don’t always get the spotlight, but they are the foundation of every successful football team. The trenches teach toughness, sacrifice, teamwork, resilience, and mental discipline.

Set The Edge was built to protect and promote OL/DL culture while helping young athletes grow into stronger players and even better young men.

This is deeper than football.
This is development.
This is mentorship.
This is trench culture.

Off-Season Message for the Big Fellas

The off-season is where big athletes are built.

This is the time to become emotionally, mentally, and physically stronger than you were last season.

Focus on all three areas:

Nutrition Performance
Fuel your body the right way. Big athletes need strength, energy, and recovery. What you eat matters just as much as what you lift.

Mental Performance
Train your mind. Discipline. Focus. Confidence. Toughness. Learn how to handle pressure and adversity.

Athletic Performance
Get stronger. Get faster. Get more explosive. Fix weaknesses and sharpen your strengths.

But don’t stop there.

Increase your football IQ.
Watch football. Study the game. Learn the why behind what you’re doing. Understand schemes, leverage, and technique.

Learn something new about the game.
Learn something new about yourself.
Learn something new about life.

Find a trainer.
Find a coach.
Find someone who will push you.

But remember this:

Commit to yourself first before you expect someone else to commit to you.

This off-season is about growth — not excuses.

Don’t learn how to make new excuses.
Learn how to become a better man and a better athlete.

Good luck.

Coach Haynie out.
