So grateful to @laurenlesueur for inviting me to design for my first fashion show, Current Affair by @firstgenfashionshow with such an inspiring prompt:

FIRST GEN’s Current Affair is a reflection of the times. The presence of creativity and surrendering conformity. The premise of this show is apocalyptic in nature. It is a representation of the Designers interpretation of survival in the form of Art.
You’ve had nothing but time on your hands, resources at your fingertips and function is a reflection of your environment. You are the last person standing… the last person you’ve seen for as long as you can remember. There has been no mirror nor need for validation as you are alone in a world overcome by nature. You are forced to utilize what resources are available to you. You are a reflection of a Warrior as you are still Here.

Luv Bug designs by Kiki Dauda 🩷🩷

I am so proud of her creativity. I never told her the theme of the First Gen Fashion Show, yet she somehow captured it perfectly.

She designed both dresses herself. Her twin sister, Bear, wanted a mermaid theme, so she added a beautiful mermaid design to the back of that outfit. For the other dress, every cat and butterfly was hand-drawn and painted by her. She spent time creating each detail, gathering little treasures and knickknacks from around our home, and bringing her vision to life.

Watching her imagination come alive has been one of the greatest joys. The creativity, confidence, and thought she put into every piece reminds me that children often understand how to tell a story through art better than we do. 🦋✨

The Wreckage in Downtown Portland…

As you all may know, I did my first fashion show in June 5, 2025, celebrating the anniversary of my fifty shades of textiles collection… and fashion show I brought together this piece dedicated to @groundscore.association, there sewing program changed my life and made me build the foundation in fashion with the help of my mentor, Rickey. It has been a blessing to be able to showcase my fashion at multiple different spaces and communities. With that I bring to you the Wreckage in Downtown Portland.

Bottles, Life, Tents bring the side of downtown that nobody wants to discuss to hide away from the truth and push past the lower class to make their lives more wealthy. As we bring awareness to serious issues happening in our day to day we can’t stop but reflect on ways we can change the society for the better. The theme of the @firstgenfashionshow was apocalypse, I wanted to take my own interoperation by showcasing “garbage” can be turned into art.

Trash Bags & Tents:

Ways we can help the environment is by recycling and stopping the waste, and turning old things into something new.

Beauty behind the madness:

I have this beautiful model @sthmbs.kmb who showcased this so elegantly with her grace and wisdom. With the makeup representing the essence of the world among us and the outfit showcasing that fashion regardless of how it looks can be beautiful.

Parking Tickets:
LOL can’t go into a story time rn, but I still love yall…. 😌

Colors: the colors to me represent happiness and beauty. I wanted to bring life into what I see of the world.

Remember, we have control of the world we live in, everyday is a new day so live it to your fullest. Your limitation in this lifetime is only yourself if you decide it to be.
