Madrid's @firstlinehc are a Latin hardcore band built by people whose lives run through Colombia, Venezuela and Spain. When they first got into Madrid hardcore, they found a scene where Latinos were much easier to spot in the crowd than on stage. That outsider experience, migration, family and the question of where home actually is all ended up feeding into "TRIBU".

They also started building their own space around it. @asilorecords grew out of a Christmas 2023 benefit show collecting toys for migrant kids in shelters, with Firstline members directly involved behind the label too: David @ratcash92, who founded Asilo Records and drums in the band, Kiwi @kiwipunx, Gus @yatedigoyadosveces and Gaspar @gxspyxvx all work with the label, while Maizo @maizophoto handles photography alongside playing in Firstline. More benefit shows followed, raising food, toys and money for different local causes while new bands and a younger crowd started coming through the Madrid scene.

We went deep with Firstline on what it means to be a Latin hardcore band based in Madrid, how the scene received them, what changed when they played Mexico and Colombia, and what happened when those same migration stories reached someone living alone in California.
