Sometimes, knowing the land begins with slowing down enough to truly notice it. 🌿

This Saturday morning, strangers came together for a walk in nature with @firststep_together - to connect, listen, learn, and experience the land through a different perspective.

Through meaningful sharing rooted in First Nations knowledge and connection to the land, the walk became more than movement. It became a space for stories, reflection, community, and a deeper understanding of the place we call home.

At Oraya Harmony Foundation, we believe connection begins when we create space to listen- to the land, to one another, and to the wisdom that has existed long before us.

This is just the beginning. 🤍

Culture Creates Connection
A cup of Vietnamese coffee.
A traditional áo dài.
A familiar song.
A story shared between generations.
Culture can help people feel connected to where they come from while creating opportunities for others to learn, understand, and appreciate something new.
Viethub believes cultural activities can bring communities closer together and help create a stronger sense of belonging in Canada.

Today’s Stampede rounds started bright and early with pancakes at Red FM, Calgary’s Multicultural Radio Station.

From there, we stopped by the Fly YYC Calgary International Airport Stampede Breakfast to enjoy great food, great company, and the chance to catch up with some friendly faces.

Later, I joined Mayor Farkas for lunch on the Stampede grounds, where we had the pleasure of meeting Quinton Lucas, the Mayor of Kansas City. We had a great conversation about the Prairie Economic Gateway initiative, Calgary’s rail connection through CPKC, and the opportunities that stronger trade and transportation partnerships can create. And of course, we couldn’t leave without talking a little football!

It was also a privilege to watch Honourable Lois Mitchell, former Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, present members of the Team Canada’s men’s curling team with their Olympic rings - a special moment celebrating Canadian excellence.

The day wrapped up at the Calgary Stampede Agriculture & Agri-Food Reception, an opportunity to showcase Alberta’s world-class agriculture and agri-food sector while bringing together leaders from around the world to share ideas, build partnerships, and strengthen friendships.

Another great day celebrating our great city.
