Holy shit y’all! THANK YOU SO MUCH (!!) to everyone who came out and made this possible. I had so much fun (and learned so much!) through this process. I am so excited to plan one of again these v soon :,-). When I tell you I would’ve never been able to accomplish this two years ago, please know I am eternally grateful. This journey has been special to me <3.

Thank you so much to @standing.by.band @perception.zero and @theseoldwounds for playing this show, and being forgiving about the time ;-). I couldn’t haven’t asked for a better vibe and a better group to learn from 🌟🌟!

Thank you to all my sweetheart vendors, you make me feel like being an artist is possible :-). I appreciate you more than you know. I hope you had as much fun as I did!!

And thank you to the sweeties @thetoweronthecorner for letting me take up some space for a day. I really have the best friends and I appreciate everything you do to keep me grounded <3.

In just two weeks on Friday, May 22 the Castle opens its doors to Omaha’s dark community for an evening of art, music, and wall-to-wall shopping. Explore the luxurious 35 room Castle while browsing a curated selection of local creators, vendors featuring art, prints, jewelry, custom fashion, oddities, and more. We’ll also be featuring a few exhibits about the history of the goth subculture, highlighting local @noiromaha influence & events in the community.

Hark! Our second annual Castlecore Spectacular returns to Joslyn Castle & Gardens this Saturday from 2-5pm! Guests can shop an artisan market, attend special presentations, watch puppet shows and take in a group art show.

Shop our Artisan Market featuring local makers selling their handmade items throughout the first floor of the Castle. From art, to organic body products, candles and pottery, this is a wonderful opportunity to shop small and find the perfect gift or a treat for yourself!

I was asked today what I want to be remembered for, and I answered without hesitation: my unfaltering ability to care about people and the quality of care I provide to those around me, whether I know them or not.

I've been through a lot, but haven't we all? Reach out to your community. Kiss each other (you heard me). Let go of the things - or people - you can. That's how it goes. I just can't help feeling like my core concepts were always right - that being kind can cause great effects, and that love is everything. It's not an epiphany, and there are of course a lot of nuances involved - still, I do my best. Life is difficult, curious, and upside down a lot. The only footing we can get is truly with each other.

Hold hands with someone, or call someone you haven't in a while. Do something that scares you, and do it scared anyways. Say the thing you've been wanting to say. Maybe it'll get ugly, maybe there will be crying or anger involved - maybe there will be hurt feelings. But true connections never wither. (Of course, there's more nuances in that as well, but let me be dramatic, and suspend your disbelief a little).

We’re kicking off our Third Thursday @castlecathedraloma Art Walk on May 15th from 5 - 8pm with a vendor faire! Start your evening at @joslyncastle with music provided by DJ @artistdanyreyes, local vendors offering art and handmade goods on the lawn and two art openings. Food trucks include Dripp’s Barbecue and @theabrakebabrallc !

Bring the entire family every third Thursday in the Joslyn Castle neighborhood along 40th Street, between Dodge and Cuming Streets. District partners Cathedral Arts Project Omaha, @calicommons, Joslyn Castle & Gardens, and the Joslyn Castle Neighborhood Association, are looking forward to opening up our venues for an evening of art, food, and fun!

@raynwaterr creates mixed media art by layering different mediums in her drawings and paintings inspired by fantasy, comic influences and surrealism.
