I’m so excited to announce a project that’s been in the works for a while now…A Joyful Noise - Live From Public Records double 12” LP!

As you know we’ve been doing this night regularly for the past 3+ years. The concept from start was simple: a club night that incorporated live music alongside DJ-presented sounds.

Incredibly, all of the nights were recorded, and earlier in the year I hunkered down and combed through over 30 hours of the band’s live performances stretching back to 2022. At first it felt like a daunting and monumental undertaking, but as I got into it, it was really amazing to relive all of it…the moments of sheer musical euphoria, the clowning, the mistakes (& the recovery), and off-the-cuff improvisational magic. As I listened back, I realized that what began as a collective had truly become a band.

The first single is called the A Joyful Noise Theme, because we’ve started many a night with it. And this is just a little vibe setter for the full album which drops November 6th with incredible artwork by @okaymissalicia that showcases the amazing pics @davefotogram took of these night and includes liner notes by @brucetantum

We’ll be celebrating the release on October 15th at our home Public Records and will have copies of the record for sale!

A Joyful Noise is:

JKriv - musical direction& bass
@brandonmarkellholmes - vocals
@fistfullofbrass - trumpet
@dommitron - flute & vocals
@flymyspcshp - synthesizers
@itssoreso - drums
@olatunjiojore - percussion
@petermatsonmusic - guitar
@stuartbogie - tenor & bari saxophone

“Getting There” is out TODAY! Here’s a video of my duet with Swamp Dogg, “One Man’s Trash (Is Another Man’s Treasure)” that I made using 80s stock footage of garbage trucks and studio footage by Addy Birkes.

For my money this album has the best songs I’ve ever written. Swamp producing, my favorite musicians in the world Mike, Noah, Jonny, Morgan and Carter and Lorenzo behind the board. 10/10, no notes. Give it a spin.
