Through FEF, we’re opening doors to mentorship, scholarships, networking, and a seat at the table with some of the state’s most influential executives. 🌎 Bringing Global Business Insights into the Classroom! Florida International University was delighted to welcome Ariel Diaz, Vice President of Legal & Regulatory Affairs for Latin America and the Caribbean at FedEx Express, as a distinguished guest speaker for the International MBA (IMBA) program. Drawing from his extensive professional experience, Ariel shared valuable insights into international trade, the complexities of navigating global markets, and the legal and regulatory challenges of conducting business across borders. The engaging discussion provided our students with a unique opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world business experiences, gain practical perspectives from an industry leader, and deepen their understanding of today’s dynamic global business environment. A special thank you to Ariel Diaz for generously sharing his time, expertise, and experiences, and to Dr. Veronika Cieslak for facilitating this meaningful learning opportunity. At the Pino Global Entrepreneurship Center, we remain committed to bridging academia and industry, inspiring the next generation of global business leaders through meaningful conversations and connections. #PinoGlobal #FIU #InternationalMBA #IMBA

I had the opportunity to collaborate with my amazing classmates on a research paper and presentation exploring the impact of transnational crime and terrorism on multinational corporations. From cybercrime and financial risks to global security challenges, this project gave us a deeper understanding of the complexities of international business. Grateful for my team and Professor Jerry Haar for such a valuable learning experience at FIU! Here’s a short clip from our presentation! #FIU #InternationalBusiness #GraduateSchool #GlobalMegatrends

One of the biggest challenges we face in America today is our unwillingness to reconsider what we believe, even when presented with new information. Changing your perspective doesn’t mean abandoning your core values. It means being willing to listen, absorb new information, and recognize when your thinking might need to evolve. That kind of intellectual flexibility is a skill, and one we could all benefit from practicing more often. Tina Vidal-Duart shares her perspective on this in our latest episode of Cold on Contact. 🎙️ Part 4, our final episode with Tina, drops this week!

Long before COVID tested Florida’s healthcare system, Tina Vidal-Duart had spent more than a decade learning how to keep healthcare organizations alive under pressure. She was a hospital CEO by 25, helping acquire financially distressed rural hospitals, identify what was broken, turn them around, and ultimately find long-term partners capable of keeping their doors open. That experience matters. When COVID arrived, Tina wasn’t approaching healthcare challenges from theory. She had spent years walking into difficult situations, diagnosing complex problems, and figuring out how to make critical systems work when communities depended on them. Sometimes the experiences that seem unexpected early in a career are exactly what prepare someone for the moment they’re needed most. Tina Vidal-Duart on Cold on Contact presented by The Frigo Mint Company.
